This story is in the prespective of Ti. Not my Ty. Hopefully everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Title is the name of the song I was listening to while writing this. Never Too Late, by Three Days Grace. :P

C&C would be awesome! :D
-----------------------

Ti hugged Maye as if he had never held anything more important. He could feel her gentle arms wrap around him too. He loved everything about this girl, she meant everything to him, and he reminded her of it every second of the war.

That’s right. The war between Leaf/Rock and Sand/Mist had been raging on for years now. Both of them were now genin, but could have easily chunin because of their skills.
Both ninja held each other tightly in their own personal tent. They had almost lost each other today. Ti figured facing danger everyday now would be easy after 3 years, but it wasn’t.
The Sand and Mist ninja had become monsters, killing any enemy on sight. No second chances, no moments of talk. Most ninja didn’t know what hit them; only found themselves in the afterlife after a blink of an eye. The worst of them was Ty, the Flaming Demon of the Mist. He had a record. 500 Leaf and Rock ninja dead… in 1 battle. The boy could be called a jounin, but as far as Ti was concerned, he was just a mad man. No emotion at all, a glazed over look at the ninja that he was just about to kill. The only time he had ever shown any sign of his former self was when he looked at Ti and Maye, and that was just pure hatred and overconfidence.

But none of that mattered now. He finally had Maye all to himself, and he loved it.
“Promise you won’t ever leave me.” Maye looked deep into his eyes, her gaze made Ti dizzy, it was just so perfect.
“I promise. We’ll be together forever, okay?” He couldn’t help but hold Maye tighter against him as he nodded and a tear ran down her face.

The moment was ruined by a massive explosion coming from the opposite side of the camp. The heat from the fire could be felt from inside the tent.
The couple instantly let go of each other and grabbed for their katanas. Maye was the first out of the tent, with Ti following close behind her. That’s when the saw the chaos.

The camp was a burst in flame. Everyone was running around in a panic except the occasional ninja who was trying to calm people and fight off the oncoming forces. That’s when he showed up. Flying in front of the moon, was a boy with black wings. He was looking down at the camp with the same glazed look as always. Scanning the camp for survivors. That’s when he saw Ti and Maye. His expression slowly went from serious, to a wicked smile. “Finally, some prey that could be a challenge.” The 17 year old boy commented to himself as he dived straight at the cute couple.

Maye instantly turned and ran, but Ti seemed stunned. Those wings, the crazed boy looked literally like the Angel of Death. He couldn’t believe he used to think those wings looked homo.
“Come on Ti!” Maye shouted, which snapped Ti back to reality again. He turned back to Maye and shouted, “Go! I’ll hold him off.”
Maye looked like she wanted to debate about it, but didn’t have enough time. She wanted to help, she wasn’t a useless girl, and she could help. She’d held off Ty by herself, all alone before. So she stayed put and drew her katana and ran to Ti’s side. “I’m not leaving you. We’ll be together forever, remember?”
Ti felt like hugging Maye, but drew his own katana and covered it with ice as Ty got closer. Ti focused on his breath and jumped at Ty. He slashed at the boy as he got hit by a graceful wing. Ti went flying back, hitting his back against hard against a tree stump. He could barely move, only watch his angel fight off the demon.
Ti couldn’t help notice how gorgeous Maye had become after 3 years. Every beautiful feature about her had grown to make her even more of an angel than she already had been; and every feature that could have been changed was. They were gone. She was perfect in every sense and she was his, forever.
Her beauty had almost distracted Ti from the fight that could be dire. Maye had been slashing at him, stabbing him and attempting to cut those damned wings off. But the cuts that landed seemed like minor annoyances to the boy as he made handsigns.

“Oh no.” Ti whispered as he tired desperately to get up. He knew those handsigns all to well.
It was the Cursed Flame jutsu, the ultimate jutsu of the Dokyou bloodline. Once the target saw the small flame in the user’s hand, the poor victim would begin to feel extreme, paralyzing pain and possibly go into an extreme coma, lasting for minutes to a lifetime.
Ty held the flame up as Maye slashed at him one last time.
She saw the flame and fell over screaming. She curled into a small ball; pain seemed to be overcoming every sense she had. Ty merely looked down at the girl with a small smile. “You could have been my queen.” He said as he kneeled next to the girl.
“Go to hell!” She shouted through the pain. What a trooper, most people couldn’t even think through the pain, yet she could speak and even insult through all of it.

Ty drew his sword slowly and lifted it above his head.
“Ti… Well be together soon. Please, I love you.” A tear ran down the poor girls face as Ty struck Maye, cutting straight into her back, killing her instantly. Blood of Ti’s lover stained the Fire Demon’s sword.

Ti couldn’t believe it. This couldn’t be happening, there was no way. ‘Together forever’, right? Maye couldn’t die, not after all this. Yet, there she was, lying on the ground in a bloody puddle, the single tear still on her cold cheek. Now both of the women in his life that he cared most about were gone. His mother, and now the love of his life, both gone. Ty would pay. He would break his neck, he promised on Maye’s dead body he would. Break. His. Neck.

Ti was already in stage 2 of his bloodline, and he could feel himself getting even more powerful because of his anger. It happened so suddenly it was amazing. Ti closed his eyes for a second and opened them. It was still there. Ti could see 360 degree around him. This was the third stage, the final stage. He ran at Ty, the fury still flowing in his veins.

Ty turned to his eternal rival. Why did he continue to attack? He killed his only inspiration in his life. Why did he live on? This was unexpected to say the least. Ty drew his own sword up again and licked some of the girl’s sweet blood off of it. It tasted sweet, beyond comprehension. He loved it; but Ti seemed only to get angrier. Ty slowly wiped the sword clean on his shirt, and then returned to Ti, who seemed to have changed dramatically. The wicked boy could feel a smile appearing on his face, which almost felt good, but he knew that in a few moments it would be gone anyway.

Ti created a giant ice spike in his hand, as large as a spear and threw it at the person he hated most in his life right now.
While he saw a simple kunai flying at him. ‘That’s it?! A kunai?!?! He must be mocking me!!’ The let the kunai hit him out of anger and watched as his ice spike exploded, causing hundreds of ice needles to hit Ty. The ‘Flame Demon’ fell to the ground, clearly defeated. But as Ti approached him, he was laughing. “That kunai was tipped in poison! You’ll be dead in seconds!!!” The monster of a boy shouted at him.
“Shut up.” Ti reached out and grabbed his opponents head and twisted it furiously to the side. The dead Ty fell to the ground, neck shattered more than broken. Ti sat down next to Maye and fell into the darkness of death.

But that wasn’t the end. Ti seemed to wake with a blinding light shining in his face. He looked around, only to notice no one there. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt and pants. No shoes, no sword, no nothing. So this was the afterlife? That’s when he saw her.
Off in the distance was Maye. Her silver hair flowing down her all white dress. She was in front of him in seconds and her purple eyes felt like they were staring into his soul. “I told you we’d be together forever.” She hugged him tightly, and Ti couldn’t help but smile as a small tear ran down his cheek. They could finally be together.

++++++++++

Back in reality, Maye sat in the chair next to Ti’s bed. Two babies cooed in her arms, looking up at her with their own purple and green eyes. Their silver hair shone brightly in the light coming in the room.
She looked back up at Ti. He was asleep. He’d been asleep for months now. The doctor said it would be years before he woke. She hadn’t been the Cursed Flame jutsu’s target, Ti had. She had beat Ty all by herself and helped Ti get to the hospital. Nine months later, the babies came. Kouji and Mari, named after her brother and Ti’s dead mother. Each child looked up at her with their cute little eyes.
“It’s okay. Daddy will wake up any day now.” She whispered softly to her little angels. But she knew what the doctors said. He might never wake. But she would stay with him through all of it. They were going to be together forever.
“Ti… We’ll be together soon. Please… I love you.” She repeated again as she saw a smile appear on her lover’s face.
