Oh Leah, I'm sorry you feel so bad. I hope you get better soon. It seems that Yellow and Anti have both had stomach bugs and now it's your turn. If I lived closer to you, I'd probably end up taking care of you, Yellow, and Anti all at once, Leah. You know, peppermint tea is good for easing an upset stomach. |

Hopefully it was just that once... I'd hate to throw up again. That's the second time this year! I wish you did live nearer to me... I would love to meet you. I think I threw up because of sudden-ish weather change and missing mum. I had a false alarm earlier on before I actually did do it. I did salivate a lot so that worried me. I'm feeling hungry... but I'm too scared to eat or drink anything because I'm afraid I might throw it back up again. It has happened. Also Ruby, I think you'd like it here, espiecially since we don't have as much snow as over there. But it has started snowing again (only lightly). Hmm... I should snuggle up in my room and watch telly. Maybe. |

I'd like to meet you too someday, Leah. It would be nice to see you and your brother. I bet the two of you together would be loads of fun. ![]() I think it would be a good idea for you to snuggle up and watch some TV. That's what Yellow does whenever he feels bad. Resting on the sofa and watching TV can be relaxing. I remember one time last year Yellow was so sick he threw up four times in nine hours. I had to run to the store really early in the morning and get him crackers and 7-Up because we were comepletely out. That helped settle his stomach once he nibbled a few crackers and had some sips of the 7-Up. I swear I should be a doctor one day. I have such compassion and a strong desire to help those who are ill. Being a doctor really would be a good choice for me. |

Leah threw up again whilst she was making dad a cup of tea. She says she doesn't want to be on the computer anymore, and is having a bit of a rest. Dad said we might have to take her to the hospital :o. |

I have quite a bit of medical knowledge from years of study, Spencer. If Leah is also running a fever, I think I know what she may have. Leah's pain hasn't tried moving to the lower right side of her stomach yet, has it? |

I'm not too sure if she's running a fever. I'll go check in a minute. Leah's pain hasn't moved to the bottom right, but a bit of pain has been created from her right side of her belly button a bit and further from her belly button to the left (only a little bit). |

Well she may just have the flu really bad. But I've learned that a fever and lower right side stomach pain might sometimes mean appendicitis. Usually the first sign of appendicits is a sharp pain in your bellybutton that moves to the lower right side of your stomach over time. People throw up an awful lot with this and have a fever too. As long as Leah's stomach pain doesn't go to the lower right side of her stomach and stay there, then most likely she has the flu. |

Appendicitis... I've heard of it before. Once the pain settles in the bottom right hand corner you should have an operation when the doctor makes a cut that removes your Appendix. Hopefully she only has the flu. Leah once threw up 5 times in under 5 or 6 hours. Only because she ate to much bad stuff on had B'day and had a bit of a Tummy Bug. |

I bet she just has the flu. People get sick with flus and colds a lot this time of year. I just thought I'd add a little bit of my medical knowledge to help out so you know what to watch for with her. You know, not all people who have appendicits need an operation. Sometimes it can be mild and go away on its own. This is what happens to Yellow Mew. He has mild attacks of the illness that flare up from time to time. Sometimes he gets better on his own in a couple of days. Other times he has to stay in bed and not eat anything for days. He's only allowed water for three days, then fruit juice and water for a few days, then he can add soup to his diet. After a week or so he then feels better again. |

I'm glad to help in any way I can, Spencer. I'm also glad that Leah will be talking to the nurse soon. It's always best to get this sort of thing checked out just in case. Either way, I have a feeling that she'll be fine. Try not to worry too much. |

We just got back from the doctor. She said that Leah needs to drink fluids even if she doesn't feel like it and take some Calpol (with luckily we got). |

In that case she really does have the flu. She should only be taking in little sips of water at a time since she's throwing up so much. If she can't drink a whole glass of water, or even a half a glass at once, then she shouldn't push her luck. Just three or four small sips of water every hour or so might be easier for her. |

Ow... The wind was really cold on the way to work today (apparently -6C, would have been -1 without) and it look me nearly an hour for my hands to recover. I forgot how painful it is when you get the feeling back in your hands. Still, I recovered in the end (I think) and didn't freeze to death. ![]() Perhaps I should exercise my hands more to get the blood flowing properly... XD |
