Ok, I noticed in the High elf thread that there was some confusion as to what Always strikes first entails. Basically the unit/character can strike first before chargers. If someone else has a similar ability then it goes to higher initiative, if the deadlock hasn't been broken by then, it goes by a good ol' roll off.

When something that has always strikes first encounters a charging chariot with scythed wheels. The Chariot gets their impact hits in BEFORE any attacks are made against it using the always strikes first. Impact hits are always resolved before any hand to hand combat takes place. If there is a unit, in this case, of high elves, then they'll potentially take 7 hits from the chariot before returning their attacks, (if able) and then finally the crew and animals of the chariot get to attack back.

Hope that clears up the Always strikes first rule for you.
