Ok, here's the deal. For the AFL season there will be a 40k league. The idea is that the players take on a team and we use the fixture to determine the games for the week. You'll only have 1 game a week so not much upkeep. You'll need a legal 2000 pt list. That list is your "senior side" and depending on the points value of the game, you can only take units from that senior side. Game sizes will vary between 750, 1000 and 1500 point battles, There will be a dice roll on the monday to determine the size of the battle for the week. The finals will feature your full 2000 pt list, so choose carefully. The cost for the league is $20, and there will be prizes involved. From this monday March 2nd entries will be taken, and first in best dressed as to the team they wish to be. I know I took names This monday, but... Now there's an incentive to get in early. If we don't have 16 players, it doesn't go ahead. There's at least 11 people interested so far, so if you're wanting to be in it, then you know what to do. Any more info on it will appear here as well, or ask when you're in store. Your input is handy as well. |

Hmmmm . Long time no speak. =D (on my part) Its funny that happens i come in for a day then wonder away again then comebak just once those every few months. =D lawl anyway im up for it the only issue i need to get a few more units i believe. I think another squad of something should do it. Ummm could there be any possible extensions???? and if so or not ill will figure a way to get those remaining points. =D Ummm kewl, what days would we be playing ?? and does the army need to be painted cause i think i might need a weekend marathon on painting ^_^. Anyway let me know threw email or something. Cheers |

If you've got a few models short, that's cool, Add them to your 2k list as it gives you incentive to get them, so later on you can drop them into the team as they were named in the side. Blank bases are banned, if they're missing an arm and it doesn't take an encylcopedia worth of info to know what it is, it's fine, I think people with complete armies painted and ready to go have a sickness that can't be cured. If you've got a fully painted army, that's great, perhaps you get a bonus point for a fully painted 2000 point army. That bonus point may help get you into the finals later on??? The money raised will go towards two things. 1: 1st, 2nd, Wooden spoon, and Best and fairest player of the season. What is left over will go towards some new scenery for the tables. The Third point of the league is to get some gaming going on and having fun. So don't worry about not winning, it's about participating. A full 16 player league will be brilliant in kicking that off. As far as Games go, it's up to you to be available to play. Monday nights we're at the shop until late, I'm open until 5:30 every night and am there til later usually, so a game started after school, (wednesday's I'm closed at 5), can be finished, Saturdays we're there until 3pm, if there's a game going on and I don't have to be elsewhere, then we can be there longer. You only commit to one game a week which is managable. |

If you'd said they were stealth suits I would have let you get away with it...  Any ideas on what to do if the game for whatever reason isn't complete?

Oh, Prizes are as follows: 1st: $75 voucher 2nd: $50 voucher Wooden Spoon: $25 Voucher Best and Fairest: $25 voucher This is of course we get all 16 slots filled. The money that is left over will go toward terrain for the tables, so you could call the league a bit of a fundraiser as well. |

Hey Paul/Everyone I have a few thoughts/suggestions on the league Points Win 4 Points Draw 2 Points Loss 1 Point Unplayed game 0 Points This hopefully encourages people to play Also people should be ineligible for the wooden spoon prize if they have just not played any games...maybe they are only allowed 2 or 3 unplayed games in the season? if someone knows they are not going to be able to play a game in a particular week (sometimes real life happens) they should be able to have a rescheduled fixture but all make up games should be completed by the end of round 22....maybe a special opening on the sunday of round 22 and a bbq for everyone to wrap up the regular season. "well that's all I have to say about that" |

Did I hear open on a Sunday, giggles at you :P. Perhaps make-up games are done before the next round? it interferes with points and ladders etc, if you can't do a round one match until round 22. Lot of different armies out there this time around, it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top. |

Tomorrow is the day for getting your entry in and making sure you've got the team you want. I think we're going to have to start a fight club for Geelong... No idea why, Oh, smack, there it is, lol. Really hoping we can get 16 players into this as it should be a great league. There has been talk of allowing 100 pts for weapons changes within the "senior" side as well, which I suppose isn't a bad idea as it allows you to modify the teams at a smaller level, what's the point of only having plasma pistols against tyranids when you'd be better off with flamers or missile launchers for your squad. It allows minute changes. Anyway, hopefully by tomorrow night I've got everything sort of put down so we all know where we stand so everything kicks off the way it should, with a bang. |

how would the extra 100 points work? is it just for weapons/upgrades? Actual models can only be worth up to 2000 points? if thats how it would work then it sounds fair Do the lists have to be in on monday 2nd? with over 3 weeks 'til the footy season starting proper it would be nice to have a little time fine tuning lists...i still haven't decided which army to take Edited by Bigdobbo, Mar 2 2009, 01:58 AM.

in regards to bigdobbos problem with choosing his army he has a fair point.i'm still not quite sure wat i am running yet.and there is three weeks til start time....i have paid my 20 so thats gotta count for something.......................right? |

Probably the week before the season starts. Yesterday's exercise was to get people to put their money down so we do have a league to start. Basically the extra 100 points is for wargear and the need to swap things out, for example a unit taking heavy bolters in stead of flamers and sniper rifles. So that 2000 point marine army with flamers and Missle launchers can when it needs to use the 100 points to swap those items out for plasma pistols and melta guns for example. Your army will still be at or under 2000 points, or whatever points level is being played. The extra points are just allowing you to fine tune your army againt different armies. This league is only going to work if we've maxed the players out. We need 16, we don't have that as yet. Join in, you're only required to play one game a week. |
