They deepstrike, they assault from deepstrike, simple. Their army is an army of deepstriking units, no matter what that is called in their codex, they still deepstrike, thus make use of the assaulting from deepstrike rules in Planetstrike. No difficulty or controversy.

I cringe when I think of some of those units assaulting from Deep Strike. Full unit of Bloodletters w/Skulltaker. Skullcrushers :-/

Lots of pain there

They're a bunch of girls. Andrew is still crying about that one plague bearer that was too stupid to hide behind a ruin or go to ground, too mesmerised by the might of the Necrons sweeping over its position, LOL.

This was in answer to the podcast Dale heard where people were "panicing" about Daemons and the fights that would ensue because they don't have the words "deepstrike" on their list. I'll quote Shakespeare here "A rose by any other name is still a rose".

being allowed to assualt after deepstrike kills races that are weak at CC more than ever. Its completely unbalanced and unfair.

If that's the case, choose to be the attacker, as the defender can't assault from deepstrike... The idea then is to fortify your objectives behind close ranks for aegis defence lines or other such barricades as they they have to make a dangerous terrain test if they scatter onto them, or make a difficult terrain test if they want to get to you. There's always a way around things, you need to think about it. There's also stratagems that allow you to prevent infantry from assaulting buildings.

What are you crying for Tim? You can deep strike your Seraphim give them a 3+ invul save and assault in the same round you enter play. That is very nasty in my eyes.

Dont forget in Planetstrike the defender sets up all the terrain and can put as much or as little out there as they like. If you are concerned about deepstrikers make sure you put plenty of difficult terrain out there and maximize the opportunity for dangerous terrain tests and mishaps. Also the defender has access to numerous automatic weapon systems that do not eat into your points total....thats right, they are FREE.

Planetstrike looks like a Naughty Words filter load of fun and I cant wait for my Imperial Strongpoint. I dont care if im attacking or defending im going to have a blast.

yep Paul is right I am still crying about that battle. But only because of my own stupidity. i had so many options that could have saved me the game and I totally went blank. But lets give credit where its due. Paul played a great game and used the movement tricks of his army really well. I have discovered that the Space Marines can do similar tricks if they take librarians. Throw one in with a Terminator squad and you have have a highly mobile ultra killy unit.

btw how would being a defender work for a side that deepstrikes thier whole army? (and the obvious fluff reasons such as what the hell would deamons be defending for?)

Flufy Daemon defender; just conquered an Imperial/Tau/Orc etc outpost when suddenly reinforcements arrive too late to help the defenders.

Tim, have a read of False Gods the second Horus Heresy book. They have a great Imperial assault on a moon that has been daemonically possessed. In game play/fluff terms the daemons all use deep strike rules but this is described as a daemonic incursion and they always appear from tears in the warp, materializing from nowhere.

release date was saturday 4th july
