Anthony Im so so upset that you wouldn't want to play against my daemons. I thought our relationship was growing so strong :(

By the way, we missed you last night at COTA. Were you still crying after your beloved Cats were SMASHED by the Saints? :P

no it is simple - just put you units in areas of heavy cover if you are defending.. remember the defender does get to set up the scenary

question about reserves that can arrive by outflanking in planetstrike - i only rule i can see about this is in the DEFENDER DEPLOYS FORCES section as the unit still can outflank as normal.. but the issue is that you need to roll a dice to see which edge they arrive from.. the defender does not really have a table edge and all his other reserve units arrive from random table edges

the only thing i can think of is the defenders table edge is opposite that to the attackers DZ

and for failed leaderships where do the defenders/attackers fall back to?

WoW this is awesome I find via a podcast I listen to a funny way that a rule is worded and BAM a 2 page thread about it. No wonder so many gamers want to be rules lawyers.

I agree with the mighty Pauls ruling (and how could you disagree it is Paul), but I can see these Grey areas will be great fuel to watch the fire burn in the RAW (Rules As Written) players.

That was from my Rep Dave at GW. I don't think there's any confusion looking at rules as written Daemon's deepstrike, that's it. There's a passage in the necron codex for the monolith and moving necrons about that says, no matter what your logic or how you try to twist words there's no way you can move them more than once, end of story. I think that needs to appear more often on rules like these.

I don't think we've played a game dale where we haven't been able to come out with a conclusion that was common sense, I think a leaf from the common sense book needs to be taken by more players.

I think it's hard to have different names for the same thing in both forms of the game. Yes it gives it flavor if the rule has a certain name with one army and a different name with another, but it causes problems like these. Imagine a game where by turn 5 the daemon's are only just materializing through the warp and then they have to stand there and be shot to bits, hehehe.
