Actually, he once refused to bowl against a English batsman that had also served in WW2. When Bradman tossed him the ball, he tossed it back, saying "Don't you know? The man was a Rat" referring to the fact the batsman had served alongside the 9th Australian Division in Tobruk, the "Rats of Tobruk", during the siege. Amazing what you can learn when wargaming, isn't it?
