While we're rules updating, Someone mentioned Units being able to target different units than the vehicle they are riding in a while ago. Can't remember if it was answered or not but, yes they can target other units.

i was asking about the transport firing rules - useful information

it is an interesting agruement about the deff kopters - they have the normal armour/cover saves like infantry

i am pretty sure that the going to ground is in the general section of the rule book where it confers to infantry where as deff kopters would be classed as vehicles and follow jet bike rules. i will go home and read my rule book tonight

After extensive research I’m finding myself having to concede the fact that deffkoptas can indeed go to ground Naughty Words filter Naughty Words filter Naughty Words filter . BUT any unit that has gone to ground can’t hold an objective. I’m also finding myself having to concede that my female artier is indeed not a size 8.

yes i can confirm the deff kopters are not actually vehicles just mounted infantry that has some special rules about movement but abide by all other general rules including going to ground

this means that they cannot be targeted by my bring it down order.. damn it!!

I can't find my bloody rule book at the moment. Why can't they hold an objective if they're on it and gone to ground? I remember that being one of the examples used when the rules were being shown at a session run by Gw. Unit of guardsmen gone to ground in cover holding an objective. No idea how you got around the naughty words filter either Craige. Do I have to put you in the naughty corner?

If a TROOPS unit is gone to ground they can hold an objective.

If I recall correctly, Deffkoptas are Fast Attack, and therefore can't hold one.

The rules say ANY Troops choice within a certain distance claims/contests an objective, whether falling back, pinned, or just standing there. I can't find anything that says otherwise.

It is interesting with the going to ground rule. Had a flick through Dale's book while there. Also wasn't aware falling back troops would contest.
