Ya dude..
But where are your comments???
Well its a political stunt for me... <_<
This new PM makes me remember Rabri Devi and Lallu Yadav...
Like rabri devi , Manmohan is also going to be puppet in the hands of Sonia...
And this step puts a lid on the caustic mouth of NDA dorever about the question of Foreign origin...

abe gadhia,
sab apne view de denge..chinta nahi sabne 'feel-good' nahi kiya to kya 'feel free' sab karenge...lekin jab topic introduce kar raha hai to kuch to likha hota saath me. kuch nahi to apne views hi likh deta.

In my view this is done just to assure tht BJP's campaign against her dies down.also,by doin this ,sonia's popularity must've soared. this could translate into increase in no. of seats, the nxt time. We'll have to wait n watch, wat she does if in future elections congress get majority. I uppose she's preparing herself for that day.

cheers :ph43r:

hi doston,
sonia ne yeh kyon kiya.. sab yehi soch rahe hain.. this is what i feel-
1. she might hav been afraid of attacks on her life from hindu fundamentalists.
2. she must have been apprehensive abt the legal complications that wud arise on her becoming the PM.. remember, she has not yet given up the citizenship of Italy completely.. also, she still owns some property in Italy..
3. she knew in her heart of hearts that the job of PM wud hav been too much for her.. after all, it involves giving lots of unprepared speeches as well.. :D

now she can run the govt. by the proverbial "remote control".. although i believe that manmohan singh shud do a reasonably good job...
another issue, suppose congress wins the next election too, will sonia be in a position to take the PM's post having already refused it once?? i doubt..

yaar PJ marne ka bahut mood ho raha hai.. so here goes-
"she was so-nia, yet so far'"

yes gadia , i will tell you what our constitution says in this regard :-

five years ago, one mr. Hari Shankar AJin challenged Sonia's election from Amethi as a MP , on the grouns that she is not a citizen of India. The then NDA Government affidavit in this case says - ' there is only one class of citizens in India and once a citizenship is acquired , there is no distinction in the citizen thereafter under the constitution or under the citizenship act of 1955.' As sonia was registered as a citizen in 1983 , her election was declared valid.
Congress has been quoting this all along.

But that was for MP , now let's see what about PM :-

article 102 ( clause d ) of our constitution says - ' a person shall be disqaulified for being a MP if he or she is under acknowledgement og allegiance or adherence to a foreign state.' Sonia , in her affidavit has declared that she owns a house in italy. this ownership makes her subject to italian law and could be ( mark the word ) interpreted as adherence to a foreign state.

secondly section 5 of indian citizenship act of 1955 has a reciprocity provision whereby citizenship granted by india to persons of foreign origin is circumscibed by the rights that particular country confers upon foreigner seeking citizenship there. this means that sonia can't enjoy more rights ( like becoming the PM ) as she is a person of foreign origin (who has acquired indian citizenship) if the same opportunity is not allowed to an india-born citizen in italy.
Now to set the record straight ,Italian constitution does not allow a person of foreign origin to become PM.

So Friends don't worry unless india or italy amend their constitution, your future is safe in manmohan's hand.

I HOPE THIS SETTLES ALL THE DISPUTE AND BOTH CONGRESS AND BJP GET DOWN TO THEIR RESPESTIVE BUSSINESSES>
