All read these rules please and follow them. We also expect all players to act according to common ettiquete and so reserve the right to add rules should players come up with exploits, gamey tactics, etc. *** ALL game-related messages must be done through in game chat *** 1) Public treaties should be made in a thread of its own. Public treaty penalties will be enforced by the GM. These include both peace treaties and/or mere general treaties (non-aggression, alliance etc...). The penalties for breaking treaties should be listed in the relevant treaty threads, after having worked out among the parties what they should be. If there are no penalties listed, there will be no penalties given. Secret treaties will be managed at one's own risk of backstabbing. 2) In order to avoid getting person among players when interacting between their nations, all are REQUIRED to address themselves with their specific nation and others with their specific nations. Unless off topic to the game, all are expected to address themselves and others by the nation, not their screen names. I believe this will reduce getting personal, keep it neat and orderly and will spice things up through role playing. STRICTLY ENFORCED Example: Suppose a crisis develops over SoI control of the Netherlands between of Germany and France with France trying to get it in her control. Rather than the German player saying "I will war you if you take the Netherlands under your sphere, XXX.", he is expected to say somewhat similar to "Germany warns France of serious consequences/war if it takes the Netherlands into her sphere" etc... 3) It is REQUIRED for a player to have MSN Messenger account and be on it during the session. This is the main medium of communication among us to make sure things go smooth, especially in cases of dropping during the game. 4) All wars need to end with a formal preace treaty, which will be posted on the forum on a separate thread. Any other deal between two players can also be posted as a treaty. Refer to rule 1. 5) Before 1880, the stockpile slider must be set at 50% or higher at all times. After 1880, it must be set at 100% at all times. The player must not seek to defeat this rule by going to the trade screen and setting stockpiles to not buying. If you can obtain 50% of your goods before 1880 and 100% after 1880, then you must buy them. If the goods are not available, you must still have them set to buy, because they can become available at any time. Basically, any attempts to avoid paying for your army and navy will be met with punishment. 6)China cannot be added into anyone's SoI, nor is anyone allowed to be allied to it. Attacking China is allowed. 7)Nation switching is not allowed once the first session of the game begins. Any exception will occur subject to exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the game master. 8) When at war with another player, nations are not allowed to launch attacks from a third nation which is AI and not part of the war and which the defending nation does not have access to. This means no attacking through your sattelites which are not part of the war, since the defending nation will not be able to follow your armies in retreat and thus you will have a safe-haven to launch attacks from. You can launch attack from a player controlled nation even if that player is not in the conflict. 9) No disrespect or harassment of other players. If there is a dispute between two players, it will be resolved by the GM. His decision is final and not up for discussion. Continuous harassment of a player both verbally or ingame will lead to the prompt removal of the offending player from the game. 10) No wrecking of your nation. You are not allowed to bankrupt or otherwise trash your nation. If you make some honest mistakes its ok, but deliberately destroying your country is strictly forbidden. 11) If someone's country is annexed, he is allowed to choose another nation for the next session. Keep in mind that the GM will carefully examine if you didn't broke the rule above before allowing you to choose another one. 12) When you go to a war with another player, you must clearly state your demands if you are asked to. You must still publish your initial aims when asked. However, you are free to add war goals at a later date, if the opponent has not agreed to the terms at the point when given. Declaring war on another player just for fun is forbidden. RP your demands and not just go on an annexing spree when at war with other players. 13) A player absent from two sessions in a row without prior notice will be removed from the game and their nation will be given to a new perm. 14) If a player notifies the GM of his absence for the next session and we can't find a sub for him, it is forbidden for other players to attack his nation when it is under the control of the AI. This rule does not apply if the player was engaged in a pvp war from the previous session. It is your own responsibility to find a sub when you are absent! 15) If you will be absent then you must private message me of what you want happen to your country (let a random sub it, someone you know can sub it for you, or let AI run free). Lack of a private message regarding what you want done for your country in your absence will, if possible, result in a random sub that we could find. 16) In game prestige loss for declaring war against a human country in which you have a peace treaty with (the 5 years limit) will not be void. 17) A normally human-played country will be considered as AI-controlled human country ONLY if the player has notified in advance about his absence. If he has not, it will be treated as a fully AI nation. 18) There no longer be extended pauses in-game for negotiating the end of a war. When one side or the other is ready to admit defeat, we will have a short pause for opposing armies to retreat and stand pat as an informal truce. Then, we will continue with the game on slow speed. This allows both the warring parties to make peace, and the parties not involved to continue playing the game and having fun. 19) Everyone must open an embassy for their country before or on (TBA) in order to claim their country. If an embassy is not opened then your country may be taken by another player (This is to weed out the people who aren't actually going to play). 20) Gamey tactics such us (but in no way limited to) humiliating the same AI nation multiple times are strictly forbidden and will be punished severely. There will be no excuses like "I thought that was OK". If you are in doubt, ask. Consequences for Violating of a Rule: 1st Offense: Your treasury and any RPs accumulated will be halved, and you will be charged 25% of your total prestige. 2nd Offense: Your treasury and any RPs accumulated will be deleted, and you will be charged 50% of your total prestige. 3rd Offense: You will be banned from the game and another player will have the opportunity trade up to your nation if they wish. |
