Just a reminder, you have to re-new alliances and treaties after each session. Currently none of the treaties made before would be valid this session, you have to renew them. A post like this, on an embassy is good enough:

Renewal of treaty "_____":

France: [X]
Spain: []

(Then Spain signs it)

So legally Spain can be into the war if it declares official alliance with either Russia or Mexico.

Interesting. Should we rethink peace treaty? :D

I'm wondering where the fuck is Mexico.

He PMed me today agreeing to the treaty. I just now posted the official document for his signature. It appears the peace is going to go through, requiring Spain to white peace while the USA adds the proper wargoals.

However, they're free to ditch the treaty and ally with Spain, which would be ironic considering Mexico's recent independence from Spain and the Spanish desire to annex its former colonies.

Uh, sorry to break your bubble, but he needs to actually sign it himself, we cannot go off of your word. (no offense) Or else if someone were absent or not on much during a certain week, people would create magical deals the other didn't approve of.

Also, regarding Spanish-Mexican relations and your "ironic" quote, I don't like players annexing players, let alone Spain taking Mexico, not worth the massive effort needed to do so. And I have no interest in taking Mexico anyway, so your statement is invalid.

Calm your Spanish rear-end, ambassador. :P

If you hadn't noticed, Toledo posted in the thread, so don't take my word for it. I merely pointed out the two possibilities ahead of us.

You revised and made major adjustments, which require the other signature to be updated properly.

Also, I'm not angry with you, just pointing out the issues that are brought up. (sorry if it seemed harsh, and no shit isn't real until Friday silly :P)

Do MP games usually have this much diplomacy? lol

This really is the way it's meant to be played

Oh, if you want to see diplomacy go to the AOI 4 game thread here: AOI 4 Thread

Had plenty of fun on that one, 2 great wars, crazy Russian and France players, Triple Alliance against those players, all kinds of crazy things.

At first I thought "why not just play the whole game in a weekend?". Well, now I'm certain a week between sessions is a good span for diplomacy :)

It's possible, and very fun, to play a similar style of game over the weekend, but you all have to be sitting around a table to do it.

On a side note, if any of you are up for a side multiplayer game of Victoria spanning the length of a few weeksnights or a weekend, let me know!

Sure, I'm up for that. Just say when.

Note that there's a reddit game starting on Sunday, which i've claimed a country in.

Oh nice, do you have a link to that? I've never joined the Reddit community, and have no idea where to start.

I'm actually playing Vic2 right now as the UK w/PDM. Never tried the behemoth UK before.

The UK is a strange thing. It should probably be cooped, actually, so it is the behemoth it was. (Coop Britain is ridiculously strong).

Guess you guys never played a PDM France or Russia then.... THAT is no fucking joke after 1850.

(If Russia is played properly, winning the Crimean War, you can have 1,000 brigades easy by the late 1870s.)

Pop Demand Mod for Victoria 2. Very good mod to play, much more historical, more detail in industry, pops and events/decisions.

Added many new nations, created more historical nation position and composition. All kinds of things.

Here's the forum link for PDM. To be honest, I've never actually played vanilla Heart of Darkness. I started playing all my Vic2 games with PDM sometime after A House Divided came out and never went back to vanilla!

There are some things I would change - for example, it's much easier to accumulate money, especially as the years go on. However, it adds its own challenging aspects to Vic2, and also adds several historical events to have the game resemble actual history while allowing deviation for historical plausibility.

@icendoan - thanks for the link. Most countries are claimed, but Argentia seemed like the next-powerful after all the others claimed. dutch_hunger is my other alias for most things online.

If PDM is widely regarded as better, why do we not use for MP? Does it not work/is buggy?

Seems it's too unstable for MP. I've seen games with countries less than 2.75M inhabitants work; that is, anything from Punjab down.

Due to the fact PDM added so much, and Victoria 2 cannot optimize even the the best systems, the game runs extremely slow even for Single player games, I never tried a Multiplayer game, but I could imagine severe lag and plenty of OOS issues coming up.

If NNM or VRRP were used, that would be great, problem is, VRRP is only updated to AHD, not HOD. And NNM is kind of iffy due to it basically being a watered-down version of PDM.

VRRP is almost there, I think. It's under a complete rewrite, due to messiness with HoD, and the author is short of free time.

We'll get it eventually.

As for the time, for people in the Americas, it's gunna be 1 hour earlier, at 6 PM EST instead of 7 PM EST.

^ Game time for EST. 6pm today and all days forward.

Edit: Someone told me about this site to figure out times in other countries. It's the easiest converter I've seen.
