:BIJAP: Japanese Missive to Spain :BIJAPN:

It is evident that Spain thinks that Japan has agressive tendancies that may threaten their colonial posessions in the pacific. This isnt true, Japan has no intention in taking over existing colonies of European powers such as the Dutch East Indies or Spanish Phillipines. Any Japanese aggression into the south pacific will be limited to occupation of East Asian countries in hopes to bring them into the Japanese protection and The Japanese nation as a whole. For the South Pacific as a whole Japan is more than willing to negotiate national 'expansion' boundaries with Spain, Netherlands and The United Kingdom.

Personal letter addressed to HM Carlos, rightful King of Spain

My dear friend and relative,

I have followed attentively the events in Spain, and wish first and foremost to convey my deepest preoccupation with your personal safety. The pretender and her supporters have long renounced common christian civility, and there is no hoping for any sort of humane treatment should be captured by the rebels. This is, however, no reason for abandoning the struggle to bring back order to the Kingdom, and you may find peace in knowing that the sicilian branch of our House of Bourbon will support your rightful cause in every way possible. The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies views our two nations as sharing an unbreakable bond in blood and faith, and me and my family hope only to see the day where a unified Kingdom of Italy, ruled by the sicilian Bourbons, may stand side by side in any cause with the Kingdom of Spain, ruled by the our hispanic kin. Together we will reclaim your lost colonies in the Americas, secure spanish and italian interests in the Dark Continent and fight off the revolutionary hereticism threatening on gripping our Europe.

It is, therefore, our most sincere hope that once you have finally triumphed against the liberal heathens that have unjustly usurped your throne, you will support as well the unification under Bourbon rule of a Kingdom of Italy for all italians.

Yours truly,

Ferdinando Carlo, King of the Two Sicilies

PS. It seems wise to recognize mexican independence

General Santa Ana in a personal letter to the rightful King of Spanish Empire, Carlos V:

I can't express all my happiness after reading your last letter. Now I have no doubt about the future of Spain, it's brighter than ever with you in the head of its government. You have our full support here in Mexico against those bloody rebels. Sadly, as you seem to already know, we are having troubles with rebels here as well, the texan rats. And we start to think that revolt is financed with USA money and volunteers. We will know more about it after registering their corpses.

Spain and Mexico share a common destiny, let's make it the greatest !

The Marrakesh Declaration and a letter to Queen Isabella's Regency

The Marrakesh Declaration by the French Republic entails this:

- Any attempts at taking land or aggressive wars against Morocco will result in France being required to defend the Morrocon state.
- Any attempts to sphere Morocco by Spain will result in France being required to intervene and remove Spanish diplomats from the country forcefully.
- If any Carlist rebels wind up on the Franco-Spanish border, meaning any Spanish province right beside France, French troops will cross the border to fight and capture the rebels. If this problem persists multiple times, we will be forced to move deeper into Spain and capture Barcelona from the Carlists.

Letter to Queen Isabella's administration.
The French Republic sends our regards to the rightful government of Spain, and hope the war is going well for the Queen. We'd like to extend a hand of friendship to the Spanish government. Surely, the Carlists only want to oppress and impose their greed and tyranny further upon the Spanish people, we are prepared to help Spain let liberty and righteousness come out on top.

We are offering to send the French Algerian Corps up to Catalonia to help Spain fight the Carlists. In addition, we would offer very close co-operation with the Spanish, and even perhaps helping Spain regain their land in the Americas, overthrowing the brutal dictators there. Surely, this would be a very difficult task for Spain to do on her own, given the USA, Brazil, and maybe even Mexico would oppose it.

If Spain wants to prosper, do what's right, we would recommend taking up our offer and fighting the Carlists with no mercy. Of course, if Queen Isabella were to refuse French help and lose the war, we would still except her in exile in France away from Carlos, but we must note if the current Spanish government falls, we cannot guarantee Spain and France will have good relations.

Greetings the HM Carlos V, rightful King of Spain.

The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies most certainly does not consider the Treaty of Corsica a vassalisation of any kind by our country to France. It is but a diplomatic resolution for french support on the unification of Italy, one that greatly advances the cause while minimizing the likelihood of having to resort to hostilities to achieve our aim. It is important for Spain to understand that the unified Kingdom of Italy would be almost impossible to make a reality withouth french or austrian cooperation, and most certainly so without some other type of foreign involvement. Our country has early on stated that our aim is to unify Italy peacefully, and that is what we intend to do.

We reiterate our desire for close friendship with The Kingdom of Spain.

Yours,

The Foreign Ministry of The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies

To expand upon a point that Two Sicilies made, as Two Sicilies needs a foreign power to help her goals, we think Spain also needs a foreign power to achieve their goals, especially re-annexing their old colonies in the Americas, who we do believe should go back to Spain.

I wonder though, what other power will support Spain in this goal, especially with the US upholding the Monroe Doctrine. Please, speak up. I don't think there will be any. You have missed your opportunity, Spain.

You have made your decision, and you have made the wrong decision, if Spanish prosperity is what you care about.

We remind you again, any attempts on Morocco will be dealt with force.

:BIUSA: Greetings from the Office of the President of the United States of America

Regarding your Claims of the Spanish Empire:

Venezuela, Columbia, Peru, and Ecuador are sovereign nations in South America. We encourage you to develop your current colonial holds in the Americas, but should you espouse a doctrine of war and dominance over former colonies, the U.S. government will be forced to intervene.

The New World is not to be a battleground for European powers. We respectfully urge you to give everlasting peace to your former colonies.

Best regards to the Spanish crown.

:BIITA:

HM Vittorio Emanuele, King of Italy, wishes to greet HM Carlos, King of Spain. The Kingdom of Italy, newly unified under Savoy rule, wishes for a long and fruitful friendship with the people of Spain.

Although we are certain that Spain would have preferred to see Italy unified by the House of Bourbon, we hope that the final outcome of the Risorgimento, while not ideal to spanish interests, will not affect the relationship between our two nations,

There are two very important issues we would like to inquire for further spanish pronouncement:

1. Morocco: France recently made clear that its intransigent position regarding spanish action in Morocco has not changed, and it seems she is prepared to go to war over such a thing. While The Kingdom of Italy supports the idea of a balanced european influence in the north of Africa, and thus is supportive of the spanish annexation of Morocco (although unlike the sicilian Bourbons, we are not prepared to go to war against France because of this), it seems to us that The King of Spain would be wise to seek a diplomatic solution to the issue (OOC: before the next session) and not take action regardless of french threats. We reiterate the House of Savoy's support for spanish presence in the north of Africa, but given the increasing isolation of France in the Concert of Europe (especially after its war with Austria), we believe that it would be possible to secure enough support among european powers to make the french come to reason.

2. Former american colonies: Spain has expressed interest in regaining some of its lost colonies in the Americas. Our country is very sympathetic towards this desire, as Italy is attempting to regain control over Tunis, a protectorate lost over very similar circumstances to that of Spain's south american colonies (opportunistic rebellion in the midst of conflict in the motherland). This, however, would come into conflict with the american Monroe Doctrine. In fact, the USA has made clear its intentions to oppose any attempt by Spain to claim any of its former colonial possessions in the american continent. It is therefore important to note that Spain remains in a state of war along with Russia and Mexico against the USA and the USCA, so if Spain's intentions are to regain a presence in latin america, sending a contingent to North America and resuming hostilities, or to at least negotiate terms of peace with the americans would be very favorable for spanish colonial interests. The Kingdom of Italy remains very supportive, in spirit, of the Russian-Spanish-Mexican faction in the War of Yankee Aggression against the mexican people.

France greets the new government in Spain.

King Carlos should be thankful we didn't intervene in the civil war, or any Carlist rebels didn't dare to cross the Pyranees.

We can accept an illegitimate ruler in Spain, but we again remind Spain that Morocco is in the French sphere, and should Spain launch an attack, France will do everything in our powerful to protect the Sultanate of Morocco.

Again, we have no problem with Spain expanding in the Americas, that would be the best option for Spain.

The Spanish Empire might think that a simple joke [and a pretty OOC one at that :P] might be insulting enough to demand an explanation, however Chile would like to remind the government of Spain that the havok it wrought upon Chile and its people during our wars of Independence have left marks so deep that unless the Spanish Empire is prepaired to take real steps to repair what has so damaged relations between our two nations, then it would be best if the Spanish Empire kept her frustrations with regards to how South America views Spain to herself in the future.

For instance, phrases such as "our former colonies" are about as insulting to the republican government of Chile as the joke that the Spanish Empire took offense on.

However, the Chilean government is glad that the Spanish Empire wishes to take steps towards building a better relationship between our two sovereign nations and will require extensive guarantees that any future reconquista of South American territory previously held by the Spanish crown will not harm Chile, her interests in the region, or the regional balance of power.

A study on country HDI levels has just been released, and Spain has come in last place, by far. France was shocked to find out that slavery is still happening in certain parts of Spain, and is legal.

France would like to remind Spain that this isn't the 18th century anymore.

At this point, France is considering military action against Spain. France demands that either

1) Slavery be outlawed by 1883
2) The most limited voting rights/elections are given to the people of Spain by 1883

You have been warned. We will not tolerate this type of madness right beside us.

While The Kingdom of Italy considers the french threats against The Spanish Empire unacceptable, we also consider unacceptable the prevalence of slavery within spanish colonial possessions. Not only is it ethically anachronistic for slavery to persist under european rule, there are also strong economical arguments in favor of abolishing slavery.

We strongly encourage The Spanish Empire to outlaw slavery and slave trade within all of its territories.

Austria was amazed and disheartened that the King of the French would show such aggression towards his loyal ally on the honeymoon of their successful coalition. Nevertheless Austria believes the matter will be resolved peacefully and hence has no compunctions offering Spain a defensive alliance:

The Austrian-Spanish Defence Accord

1. In the event of either signatory being attacked and requesting assistance, the other signatory will join the war on the side of the requestor
2. Neither signatory will declare war against the other signatory or that signatory's satellites or spherelings
3. Neither signatory will join an ongoing war against the other signatory or that signatory's satellites or spherelings
4. During a diplomatic crisis, neither signatory will take a position in opposition to the other signatory
5. The penalty for breaching this agreement will be -100 prestige

The person of the monarch is regarded as inviolable. The North German Confederation is alarmed that the U.S. Ambassador to Spain would not only suggest violating the sacred principle of monarchical inviolability, but also advocate the deposition and imprisonment of a crowned head. The North German Confederation must resoundingly condemn such rash and dangerous statements.

While the North German Confederation has been vocal in our opposition to slavery (indeed, we articulated our opposition to the abhorrent practice even before the formation of the N.G.F), we do not believe that violating the sacred personage of the monarch is the means by which slaves will be emancipated.

All this reasoning for Monarchs is barbaric superstition, akin to African tribalism.

France invites the King of the NGF to enroll in the University of Paris. The University of Boston, or the University of Stockholm could also be options if the German King is scared of French guillotines. Enlighten your mind. We also recommend reading the works and findings of Charles Darwin, it will blow the German King's mind, you know, about the real world.

The University of Paris? Allow us to remind the French Government that during their so-called “enlightened revolution” the French National Convention suppressed the faculties of theology, medicine, arts and law throughout their Republic. The radical liberals were deeply concerned that the academics of France’s renowned institution of higher learning would condemn the excesses of the French Revolution.

The Sorbonne, established by the Roman Catholic Church, has been one of France’s long-standing conservative institutions, serving as the alma mater for the eminent clergymen Erasmus and Ignatius of Loyola (founder of the Jesuits), as well as John Calvin (founder of Calvinism). Perhaps the French head of state should consider reading a degree in history at his country’s leading academy.

Despite the warming of relations between Spain and Chile in recent years, our government feels obliged to voice its concerns over the internal policies of the Spanish Empire, and in particular the policy of slavery. Chile would suggest that Spain bow down to international pressure on the matter, if anything for the benefit of Spain. Such policies may give the enemies of Spain excuse for intervention.

We do not wish to interfere with Spanish internal affairs, however should Spain continue to uphold such brutal policies the Republic of Chile might have to reconsider its relationship with Spain.
