As new Cabinet enters into office, Britain asks countries with whom the former Cabinet had agreements with so we may reevaluate them.

The United Netherlands greets the new Administration of the United Kingdom, and extends a warm hand of friendship.

We are very regretful about our recent clashes; I'm sure Britain can appreciate that we were given a very sweet offer, and one which we couldn't turn down. If Britain had made a similar offer, first, we would have acted in British interests. I hope that no lasting impasse arises from this.

There are only a couple of matters which are of immediate concern for the United Netherlands that directly involves the United Kingdom: the status of the Sultanate of Brunei, and the Islands of New Guinea and African colonies.

On Brunei: Brunei has long been a goal of the United Netherlands, and it has recently fallen under Russian influence, which we feel is shocking, particularly for the sense of security it appears to afford the Sultan. Russia has no navy to speak of, and Brunei is an island, far from Russia, yet acts with Russian guarantees. The United Kingdom has both a strong presence in the East Indies, as well as renowned and unmatched naval prowess, and we ask for British assistance in negotiating for the release of Brunei from Russia, and its eventual incorporation into the territories of the United Netherlands, who is uniquely poised to provide the necessary administrative and logistical infrastructure to properly bring peace and prosperity to the island. Of course, the sanctity and security of the current British outpost and port on the island shall not be in any way questioned or threatened,

On New Guinea: the United Netherlands has, for many years, claimed sovereignty over the islands, whole and complete, but until very recently, the density of jungle and vulnerability to pestilence has prevented any serious attempts to bring protection and infrastructure to our claims. Upon acquiring recent technological breakthroughs, which make extended settlements in the eastern half of the island possible, we hastened to do so, only to find our presence questioned by the British! Surely, this must be some misunderstanding. Only the United Netherlands has the means to properly administer affairs on such far flung and disparate islands as Indonesia and New Guinea, and we do not wish to risk the welfare of the islanders in petty diplomatic matters.

On Africa: the United Netherlands has extended its claims in South Africa to claim a region which is currently contested by Britain. However, despite the excellent efforts of the Russian Court, no clear settlement regarding legal claims to Africa has been achieved. We feel that our status in Africa, and the allowing of British movements through our territory there to be of interest to the British, and we hope that through relinquishing our claims in Africa, we might realise our claims in Asia.

In a broader geopolitical sense, I hope that Britain's new Administration shares our deep and energetic wish for the betterment of all mankind, and in particular, the extinguishing of slavery, a goal Britain herself has worked exceptionally hard to achieve. We draw particular attention to the practises of Spain and Russia. Spain has received much publicity over its practices in recent years, and has been routinely condemned by the USA and France for their somewhat obstinate grasp onto slavery. Russia, however, still exhibits a system of feudal rights and serfdom which Western Europe did away with over a hundred years ago! They express support for the American fight against slavery, and actively condemn Spain, but do not appreciate the hypocrisy they exhibit over their own peoples, and keep them bound and fettered in a system not unlike slavery, by birth, which goes against everything a Good and Proper Person should consider moral.

As always, we in the United Netherlands are open for discussion, debate and negotiation, and we hope that our advances are not met with deaf ears, and that our proposals are of some interest to the United Kingdom. We also express our congratulations to the successful and fruitful marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

The Kingdom of Italy wishes the best of luck to the new British government. We understand that the task of bringing the UK back to normal after the disastrous previous administration, which ultimately resigned from office leaving the chaos they themselves caused for someone else to fix, will not be an easy task but our country sincerely hopes that through peaceful friendship and commerce between the british and the people of continental europe order and prosperity will soon be restored across the Empire.
