The Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Caliph of Islam, Mahmud II Osman sends His greetings and blessings to all Nations and Peoples of the Earth. In recent years the position of the Ottoman Empire as one of the greatest and most splendid Empires in the world has been challenged, we will meet this challenge with wisdom and fortitude. Domestic Goals of the Sultan Modernise the Army and Navy, bringing them back to their rightful place as among the most feared in the world Extensively reform the Taxation and Justice Systems, so as to be better suited to a modern Empire. Heavily invest in Education and Industry, such that Ottoman culture and prosperity remains among the greatest in the world. Re-assert unchallenged control over the Levant and Arabian Peninsula. Foreign Goals of the Sultan Establish firm friendships with our esteemed neighbors, the Russian and Austrian Empires. Encourage Islamic solidarity with our brothers in Persia. Reclaim the rebellious 'Khedive of Egypt', whose illegitimate rule has been imposed unwillingly on our loyal subjects. Acquire new territories to the east and south, bringing our splendor to their inhabitants, who lack proper order and justice. Embark upon talks with the Great Powers about construction of a Canal through the Suez Isthmus, to further global connectedness and advance the common interests of peace and trade. Claimed Borders of the Ottoman Empire All land presently controlled by the Sultan. The wayward 'Khedivate of Egypt', including Sudan and the Levant. The Lands surrounding the City of Tripoli. The Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina. The Country of Yemen, as a Strategic Outpost to protect access to the Red Sea. The Kingdom of Ethiopia. We welcome negotiation and talks with all nations, no matter their size or power. |

The Persians hope that Islamic Nations can band together, and would wonder if the Ottomans would accept an alliance with the Persia, in order to form strong bonds between our nations. |

:BISWE: Greetings to the Sultan and the Sublime Porte. We would like to inform the Ottoman government that our holding of the small Yemeni province we took as war booty is only temporary (( 1-2 sessions )), period after which we would be glad to negotiate the return of that province to the Ottoman Empire The Swedish government is genuinely sorry if this has caused a divide between us. We would like to apologise, on behalf of King Oscar I, for any inconvenience caused by our business in Asia. |
