I like this game the most because you dont have to make alliances through treaties.Unlike some other ones. And im not making a treaty if it isnt needed for alliances. |

We had the same rules last game, yet also by far the most active forum participation, including treaties. Turns out that people are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling (except Claudius whose filling include malted barley) and sometimes you need the threat of treaties to keep them in line. |

sorry, only now i realized that my rant could be misinterpreted. i was talking about the use of terms such as "midgame" and "session". just looks stupid when compared to the fancy stuff you can see around here and doesnt require that much effort. |

My mid-game options for a Full Citizenship leading party: - Pacifist Liberals. - Anti-military Socialists. - Atheist, pro-military Anarcho-Liberals. I do think this is the first time I've ever seriously considered pushing for an Anarcho-Liberal party! Other than having LF instead of interventionalism, I think they represent Kemalism quite well... And well, kemalists would be liberals. |

In addition to the Rewards Thread, please see the Supplementary Note on the Prussian Embassy:
There were many players who were deprived of the chance to take part in World in Revolution VII. This Friday time-slot is "prime-time" for Victoria II. [spoiler=Additional Information] If the Rewards Thread offers players a "carrot," the Supplementary Note is a "stick." ...and you...the rabbit. Don't worry, I won't hit you with the stick... I will catch you, cage you..

Does the game run from 3:30PM-7:00PM Pacific? (I have to go for cocktails at 7:20 so I will have to leave right after the session; I divided this summer equally between gin-and-tonic and pina coladas...seriously, pina coladas, try them; so good!) |

Mid game alliances and treaties: It seems people are a little confused because some other games require forum treaties and disallow mid game alliances. My main objective in GMing these games is to have as few rules and restrictions as possible. A lot of things can change during a session and putting handcuffs on people during the session just isnt fun or realistic. Now, this isnt to say that treaties are useless. We absolutely encourage them and I think it is an intricate part of the game. Treaties allow official deals that can be enforced and also are a solid source of IC posts to work towards the reward. Remember, this game is not about winning or losing, its about the social and fun aspect of it. Eidur and I took great care to make sure that we filled the GP's with not only quality players but players who will keep the international community active and fresh. |

Well it depends how you define winning. If your definition of winning is to drink 12-14 beers, be left alone on your southern island, organize your armies and navies into nice neat stacks and to make sure factories are full of happy employees, then I WIN! |

^^^^^^ This. Since Victoria 2 is open ended there's no technical victories. Each of us can define winning how ever they so choose, sometimes it lines up with others ideas sometimes not. For myself I set my own goals and if i achieve them i 'win' Such as GP'ing Brazil or having the top industry score with a an odd industry power, etc. the thing about these games is, winning can really be anything and I think that's why the multiplayer is so fun since the way our games are organized we all make our own goals and if someone wants to define winning as they are definitively the strongest individual country, then they can do that, if Claudius whats to rank it by who drank more beer during the session, he can do that too (As long as he doesn't get so intoxicated he cant function as a human). If this were a competitive game (defined as where there's a ranking latter), obviously it would be different but with the idea of the GMs we all make our own 'Victory'. For me its making South Africa and Industrial power (top 10 industry score). If you don't want that metric then, you have the ability to make your own. (I just love industry whoring as random countries though.) |

Lack of blood flow to sneakys brain has caused him to resort to communicating via gifs and one liners. One can only speculate where the blood is being redirected.

Have you guys seen Blackfish? Apparently it is an exceptionally good documentary about the killer whale that was at the Vancouver Aquarium, although the documentary is about his time at Sea World. The whale, Tilikum, has been responsible for three deaths. I haven't seen it as yet; will end up watching it sometime this week. |

Yes. Off we go to the summit of Mt. Lushmore! Seriously, I have been recommending pina coladas to people over the past three weeks. You know what else is surprisingly good, it may seem peculiar... most people pair their cigars with whiskey or brandy, and I usually do as well. However, I was having drinks after dinner on Wednesday, and tried the curious combination of cigars with white-wine sangria. Seriously, maybe because wine is my greatest weakness, the pairing makes you feel so pleasantly giddy. |
