What's the status of Mexico?

Well, not to be dickish in any way here, but I think nobody wants it

Wow what a dick.

Does your bro want it?

Also I offered it to Zex but apparently he has been promoted to Shift-manager so he may not be back to Friday campaign anytime soon.

Lol no but seriously what did Zex say?

Zex has been promoted to assistant to the assistant manager of customer merchandise aisle logistics and coordination.

You know, there's a term I came across on reddit the other day: Peter's Law. People on the floor don't want certain types messing with their work, so they all rally around and get them a promotion, so they enter management and can't fuck things up.

I'll play as mehico.

Zebra get your embassy up and it is yours. Or you could sub Groogy's mighty Liberia.

Subbing for Groogy also includes having to get drunk and stay up talking to me an extra 2 hours about god knows what.

Zex get a promotion?!? I'm mildly impressed, if that's true.

That's racist! Just because he's a pole doesn't mean he starved to death!

I have a LOT of colonial provinces but also a few non-colonial, where there is 100% unemployment amongst farmers, despite the RGO not being full. Beyond this I also have some unemployment both in states and colonial states with plenty of room in the RGO.

What gives? This is ruining my RGO output and pissing people off because they're not making any money :-/. It seems mostly to happen in my new colonies, but in milder forms in every state it's present.

Looking further into it, it seems to be present in the colonies of other provinces too, as long as they make grain, cotton, fruit or wool, but all RGO's have some degree of workers who just don't want to work in the field...

In all of Africa, and in provinces around the world, workers are sitting on their ass and it's killing the population of Africa and affecting the entire world. This is huge.

Yenzen is this happening for any other nations?

Eidur does this ring a bell as something youve heard of?

Does anyone else have any input

Yrs, it's happening in other nations. I tested Russian, American and French colonies - same thing. But they often "just" have 50% unemployment, for example. For some reason, the Ottoman colonies are hit the hardest.

Alright we need Eidur to wake up from work and hopefully he has an answer. I am not sure if there will be time today to edit the mod. At least if we can get a reason why this is happening

@yenzehn bug

I ran the game in vanilla and the same things happen. We're overproducing grain and people can eat only so much of it.

When I created a fake demand of about 500,000 grain the RGOs filled within days.

I'll see if I can think of something to make those poor africans not die of too much food (said noone ever)

Maybe an invention for Machine Guns that increases pop needs for certain things by a whole lot?

Or maybe a modifier for every nation would be better.

Are goods in slack before colonisation?

If this is how the game works in vanilla I see no reason to attempt to "fix" it.. if you mess with this and make it so that all workers always have something to do, many more problems will spring up.

I remember it being an issue even in vanilla, if you remember the game where I played Germany, I got South Bengal from UK and had exactly the same problem. I don't know what triggers it but it might be due to overproduction. But then again that wouldn't make sense coz dye in lategame is certainly not overproduced...

This is so annoying! My internet cut out for a third time when writing this message.

There is a way to adjust for the RGO issue in game. Contact Naselus for details.

Dye is not overproduced, but it is outcompeted, in particular by all the new dye factories that start springing up. If you remove them, the Bengali pops will be employed for the entire game.

The problem is that the RGO can't pay to employ anyone, as they've run out of money.

Ok. Also, I can type here about the RGO issue discussed earlier.

To have the RGOs fill, the sliders on the trade screen would need to be tweaked for various nations, with countries demanding more that they would otherwise purchase etc. This drives up price, increases demand, and causes the RGOs to fill, similar in effect to the artificial demand that Eidur tested.

*** Please note though that this is against the rule set. Please do not start adjusting those sliders without GM approval.***

This also allows countries to engage in economic warfare but limiting scarce resources, or driving prices up, or increasing RGO pops. Etc. (ICEN and I tried to convince Lotos to allow us to do this in Age of Diplomacy I , but apparently people don't like making Victoria 2 more mathematical so our request was shot down)

The last game that fully allowed this sort of economic manipulation led to bakerydog temporarI'll shutting down world artillery production. (Prompting a coalition to form with the intent of getting Berlin to change its economic policy). Fun times.

This is unacceptable. These errors are unacceptable! "Ain" what the heck is "ain"? How is this autocorrelation even doing its job. Auto-correct. Dammit!
