As things stand France intends to be heavily involved in both European and colonial disputes. Foreign diplomatic policies are as follows:

1. Italian unification

:BIITA: :BISAR: :BIAUS:

- France supports Italian unification and would like to see Lombardia and Venice returned Italy once. However France is generally against any views of aggression towards Austria and would like to maintain friendly relations with Habsburg Monarchy.

2. Oriental crisis and Balkans

:BITUR: :BIAUS: :BIEGY: BIGRE1: :BISER:

- France fully supports Ottoman liberation of their rightful territories from Egypt.
We look forward to closely working with Sultan and we promise support in event of crisis. However we will not support any kind of aggression towards Greece or Serbia by any of the great powers.

3. Africa & colonisation

:BISPA: :BIENG:

- France claims Algeria and Madagascar, we feel that Spain should take Marocco. On the other hand when it comes to Tunis we are considering our options, as things stand France would like to annex it but if a decent offer comes we might considering revoking our claim on Tunis. We recognize British claims on South Africa and Congo regions as well as Portuguese colonial possessions while hoping that UK will respect our claims on western Africa.

4. Americas

:BIUSA: :BIMEX: :BIBRZ:

- Even though French people have suffered greatly due to USA unwillingness to repay their loan to France, we hope to improve relations between our countries. As things stand France has no claims in South and North America.

5. Asia

:BIJAP: :BIDAI:

- France fully supports westernization of Japan and will provide economical and military aid if requested. As things stand the only French claim in Asia are Cambodia and Cochin China.

6. Belgian question

:BIENG: :BIFRA: :BINET: :BIBEL:

- France has yet to establish diplomatic relations with both Belgium and Netherlands before making a final decision on the matter.

The Sultan thanks France for their support in the matter of subduing the leaders of the illegal and atrocious separatist movement in Egypt. May all of our dealing be pleasant and may we one day find a way to repay your commitment to your far neighbor. Rest assured that we will not infringe upon our current borders with Serbia or Greece.

THE ORIENTAL CONVENTION
1836

The Kingdom of Prussia appreciates the eagerness with which the French Foreign Ministry conducts international relations but likewise reminds the French Diplomatic Corps of the virtue of patience, particularly where diplomacy is concerned.

Consider, for example, the recent revisions to the Oriental Convention which have taken place pursuant to negotiations between the Ottoman Empire and the United Kingdom. [Revisions that have only recently been brought to the attention of Berlin.]

It is clear that the convention is an evolving document. Once the text has been finalised, we have every intention of affixing our signature. We will pursue clarification from Constantinople regarding the finality of the present treaty text.

We look forward to continued diplomatic relations with our French neighbours.

Diplomatic Communiqué, Switzerland
From the desk of Ambassador Franz Anrein

Greetings to our French neighbors, we hope to have good relations in the future and hope that our nations can remain at peace. We ask that France acknowledge and pledge to defend Swiss neutrality. We wish to have no part in major European affairs. We are eternally bound together by the past bonds between our nations, but these bonds do not extend beyond cultural and economic ties. We will never join France in a war, and hope that France does not attempt a repeat of Napoleon's conquest of Switzerland. We pledge to never attempt an aggressive war against France or any of France's dependencies, in exchange we ask that France pledge to defend Switzerland in case of attack, and to defend Swiss neutrality. We hope that along with Prussia, Austria, and the Italian states, Switzerland can again enjoy an era of peace.

Signed,

Franz Anrein

Swiss Ambassador to Paris

The Kingdom of Spain is very much interested in establishing close ties to the Kingdom of France. We seek mutual recognition of claims and would in exchange offer military support in the acquisition of the areas claimed by the French crown in South East Asia. We are also keen to debate a non-aggression pact and possibly even an alliance in the future, should this be in your interest.

France is very much eager to protect Swiss neutrality, however we want assurance that Switzerland will not in a case of war provide military access to our enemies. Therefor we propose a treaty of mutual agreement to Switzerland:

1. France will defend Swiss neutrality.
2. Switzerland agrees to enter the French sphere of influence.
3. Switzerland will not give military access to any country attacking France.

Should Switzerland like to discuss details of the treaty they are welcome to contact our ambassador in private.

Your Excellency,

We must object to some terms in the previously offered agreement with the Swiss government. We also suffer from the same anxieties that your government has recently expressed, regarding the possibilities of troop movements through Switzerland. While we have no doubt that France would not ever attempt to do so, nor that it would be for an instant permitted by Switzerland, we still cannot allow Switzerland to enter the French sphere. We feel that such an act would be contrary to French and Austrian interests, and would fundamentally compromise Swiss neutrality.

The Federal Republic of Mexico would like to inquire about further French interest in the region of America. Although the Americans and the French have had close ties in the past, we would like to know what the French think of American claims on the region and their ambitions in subduing Mexico and all she stands for.

Seeing the Spanish and French relations increase so dramatically, Mexico would like to see if the French have any interest in a defensive-alliance? While Mexico has no interest in calling the french to crush the pathetic rebels in texas, we do have fears of our neighbors and any further hostilities.

As your government is very well aware, France has no claims on Switzerland, which unfortunately can't be said for neither of the German states. We are prepared to accept and protect Swiss neutrality but we can not allow Swiss to ever be sphered by Prussia or Austria.

The Swiss government cannot and will not accept the French deal, because of two reasons. Firstly, this treaty binds Switzerland to France in a quasi-military alliance, in that, if France were to fight against a Swiss-favored party (unlikely), the Swiss would be unable to provide asylum. We assure you that no foreign troops will ever attack from Swiss soil, but all nationalities will always be allowed to retreat into Switzerland. This is the nature of Swiss neutrality, and lastly, Switzerland does not feel threatened by Prussia, Austrira, or France. Our agreements of a non-aggression pact are therefore unnecessary as we lack the resources to be worth invading. We also have attempted to negotiate a treaty with Austria and Prussia, both of which bind both Austria and Prussia to defend Switzerland in case of attack, meaning an attack by one would not be likely, as we are not a worthy target of a coordinated attack, as we lack important resources. The French proposal lacks all the parts necessary of a Swiss treaty. We do not need a non-aggression pact, but require a defensive pact from France. While unlikely that we will be forced to fight, the deterrent works well in our favor.

Sincerely,

Franz Anrein

United States of America greets our friends in Europe. France has always been kind to the people in the New World, ever since you started your own colonial expeditions. France supported our independence and we are very thankful for that. USA is hoping to maintain good relations with the French through the coming decades.

Seine Exzellenz,

Regarding Switzerland, this is of the utmost satisfaction to Austria.

As for Sardinia, we have to date heard nothing from the Sardinian Embassy, nor should we dare to presume that France be their spokesman. We are in no way against the principle of spirited commerce, yet we cannot presently think of anything that Austria lacks that Sardinia might provide. Regarding your offer to exchange in place of them, we shall consult the Court, and shall return to you in due time. We do not think that Sardinia, as yet, possesses the regional might to command control of such a prominent region as Lombardia, but we shall leave it to them to make their case.

The British Empire is deeply concerned about recent french actions and your diplomacy. France is directly responsible for all major wars on the continent that happened in the last 25 years, not to mention your strong involvement in the Mexican crisis. It almsot seems as if France preferred to pursue their goals by force rather than diplomacy and compromises. If any diplomacy is done, it's to trick various nations and tie their hands in the upcoming conflicts. French actions will have consequences, one cannot simply start a war every 15 years and expect the strongest empire in the entire world, a neighbour by sea to do nothing.

Until France and her allies decide to use their tongues more than rifles the United Kingdom will not recognize any of their claims.

The Republic of Liberia wants to pick up formal relations with the French Government and engage in talks regarding the African future of the proximity of the Liberian core land.

We hope that we can stay friendly neighbors for the foreseeable future. On behalf of the Liberian President this legislation that Liberia shall not expand further than the already claimed land (map available in Liberian embassy) in case France would recognize the sovereignty and validity of these claims.

Australia sends greetings to the French government. We are sorry that London and Paris cannot see eye to eye. Australia has close ties to the United Kingdom and still views the Queen as our head of state. But despite this we are an independent and thriving nation. Our conquering and transfer of Benin was a prearranged agreement in order for the UK to transfer to us the Upper and Lower islands of New Zealand.

We hope that France and the UK can come to common ground on the future of Africa.

His Majesty, King Philip M, would like to thank the French nation for offering to aid in the series of attempted revolutions that have spread across the Spanish countryside. Though, the future may be bleak, be sure that France has a friend in Spain. The Spanish military is prepared to aid in any peacekeeping mission, made necessary due to the current state of war between the Germans and France.

A Geography Class in Hamburg: Elsaß-Lothringen is not part of France
1900

The German General Staff extend our compliments to the French High Command on quickly manoeuvering forces to the frontier as well as securing a considerable victory at Colmar. In our gentlemanly duel the French and Germans are accompanied by the Spanish and the Austrians respectively. While circumstances prevent us from wishing your party success, we nonetheless doff our pickelhauben in salutation.

The Auwartiges Amt trusts that the Quai d’Orsay understands that the opening of hostilities between our nations is not a reflection of any personal or individual animosity towards France, but an expression of the ancient quarrel between our nations over the contested territory of Elsaß-Lothringen [occasionally, and incorrectly labelled as Alsace-Lorraine on French-made maps].

We hope, of course, for a speedy resolution of the conflict, in our favour. While we fight, we extend every courtesy to the French and Spanish soldiers.

The Spanish government would like to thank France for the financial gift and cessation of lands in Africa. It does wonders to the morales of the average Spanish soldier to know that the French value the contributions of Spanish efforts in the wars of France.

The current state of war may be trying and brutal, but Spanish scientists are developing tools that shall bring a decisive end to the bloody conflict that the Germans have instigated. At the end of this dark path, Alsace-Lorraine shall remain in the hands of the French nation, its proper placement.
