Current outstanding issues: Italian position regarding Africa. We are worried about the assertiveness of other nations and the fact it that it seems a general consensus that Italy shall not acquire any part of Africa which is utterly inacceptable. UK's threatening of the Italian sphere in South America(Gran Colombia) and UK's overly aggressive policies towards other civilized nations including the USA. |

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUÉ of the EMPIRE of GREATER JAPAN To all whom it may concern, The Empire of Greater Japan must vehemently protest your takeover of parts of the Philippines without the prior approval of the Japanese government as well as your announcement of the annexation matter-of-factly while expecting the Empire of Greater Japan to accept it without protest. The Empire of Greater Japan will neither recognise your sovereignty over the Philippines nor assist you in any way in defeating the rebels currently roaming the Philippine countryside, nor can Japan, with her soon-to-be status of Great Power, support Italy in any possible crisis over the Philippines. While the Empire of Greater Japan sympathises with Italy on the matter of colonial posessions and their importance to the industry of the Metropole, for Japan too suffers from a luck of resources, the interests of the Empire of Greater Japan prevail in this Government over those of Italy. Signed, Itō Hirobumi Prime Minister |

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUÉ of the EMPIRE of GREATER JAPAN To all whom it may concern, It is unfortunate that Italy, a young European nation, has adopted the same haughty attitude towards Japan as other imperialist nations in the past. The Empire of Greater Japan is of course appreciative of your Government's wish for diplomatic relations between our two nations, but Italy would do well to remember that Japan is not China or Siam and as such 'Unequal Treaties' will neither be signed nor tolerated by His Imperial Majesty's Government. As the Empire of Greater Japan has already expressed, we do not consider that the Philippines, which Italy acquired without first consulting with Japan, are an essential territory for Italy. Furthermore, if Japan had taken territory just south of Italy, for instance Tunis, then Italy would most likely have the same justified arguments to bring before Japan, otherwise it would call into question the patriotism of your Government. We hope that Italy will see the light of reason, and not drag herself into unecessary conflicts outside her comfort zone. We will also remind your Government that you have no power to negotiate which lands Japan will and will not colonise. These matters will be discussed between Japan and the other powers with rightful presence in Asia. Any further attempts to expand in Asia will be taken as an act of aggression. Signed, Itō Hirobumi Prime Minister |

The matter of relations between Italy and France is quite simple, unless reparations are made for the Italian role in the Franco-Prussian war in the form of Savoy, a Region with a French majority, Italy will be considered an enemy of the French nation and her allies. |
