20 is absolute minimum and that would probably mean North and South America are empty and off limits except special CBs. 24 would be the target and there would have to be a lot of effort put into the roster. 24 people who stick with the game. Roster attrition is bad enough in a standard game but you can survive when you are down to that 13-15 range. In the small nation it defeats the purpose because people just start getting big anyway. Maybe I will institute the roster deposit this game. A small amount, maybe $5, that will be sent to my paypal. Anyone who leaves the game without a legitimate reason or misses too many sessions will forfeit their deposit. Then I can distribute that money back to everyone who played the entire campaign. So $5 x 24 sign ups is 120. If 17 people make it then thats $7 back to everyone. Again this is just an idea to try to give people a little extra motivation to remain in the game. Trust me, a small nations needs a large roster AND for it to remain intact. |

Didn't we get players back simply because it was a small nations game? It changes the dynamic quite a lot. |

I think buying in will reduce the total number of players who want to play. It may improve the quality of the players but there is no way we hit 20 with a buy in. |

Hmm I could ask some people from our forum to sign up, we actually got a decent number for our latest game(19) compared to previous one (11). |

If we are worried about play number we could conduct a straw poll to see how many people vote yes to it. |

Slayzer, that would be great to float the idea and see if we can add some people. The idea of a buy in was just one thought I had to thin the herd, but getting to 24 is the key number. |

We should have a Free State of Kiev then give it to someone other than Otto. |

That would work fine if you had 24 for sure people who have played before and know the group and you, but you will NOT get new players willing to give you money, so you might as well count out any new recruits. |

Yeah i really dont think anyone will make decisions based on such a small ammount anyway. Besides, we only had 1 gp with bad attendance this campaign, so I dont think such drastic measures are needed... |
