So probably Age of Empire V will finish in a week or two at most as long as everyone is on-time. Is there a time change needed for Age of Empire VI, or is it ok that we run with the current start and finish times?

Since I will be signing up for this one, I would vote for a half hour earlier start. I work weekends but don't start until usually 730 PM EST, at the earliest, though often a half hour or hour later than that is when I sometimes start.

This would also be convenient for me.

Again hijacking this thread: my steam name is 'icendoan', and I encourage that people post theirs.

With some unresolved/pending decisions with regard to roster placement, people being available to play or not, rules wording, potentially moving the start 30 minutes earlier, and the lack of opportunity for diplomacy, we are moving the start date back to the 15th.

Posting here and asking to be assigned a country is not the way to get on the roster. Not when its done 10 days after you were replied to in the signup thread but never addressed our concerns by replying to my reply. Not when its done before I even finish replying to the PM you just sent me on the same exact subject minutes ago. It looks like begging, and it is not the way we operate here, please and thank you.

To repeat: I need everyone to post that they would be good with changing the time as suggested above, and ASAP. Otherwise it stays as-is.

I already asked that. But the fact is, somebody won't have bothered to read the thread, then when we change the time, they'll freak out. Thats the way this has always worked. so its better to do it my way.

Start the first session at the current time, and ask then? If people don't show up, that's their loss.

Hey guys, Yeah banquets is just too busy it seems. I basically have to rebuild the department with an equilivante co-worker (who is uninspired and seems super depressed) and our department head (who has less experience in banquets than most of the staff) I can't guarantee I will be off work every Sunday, specifically at 2 or 2:30pm. When we do have events that day a manager has to be there from 6am - 2pm at least, sometimes longer. I will happily offer my services to sub if I am available though, and when I have more say in the overall scheme of things (my main manager and equal are pathetically bad so I may end up running the department soon enough) I will happily step back in and take a full time nation. Thank you for the consideration! Good luck to you all I am kind of jealous as this game is pretty stacked with decent players and diplomacy is already heating up!

Add me on steam a few days in advance or now if you would like

There may be an issue with the rule that you can only go 1k over your naval supply limit. Last game it worked pretty well for European nations since they have small land masses, many ports and, focus on colonization but it really screws with nations in the Americas because there just aren't enough ports to support historic fleets. Even if the US control all of its territory and Hawaii and some islands it still has far fewer ports then say the UK or France and this really hinders it in comparison so European powers. This same goes to a lesser extent for other American powers such as Brazil that historically had pretty decent navies even compared to some European powers but aren't allowed to have such navies due to the limits put on how far over supply limit you can go. im not sure how this rule should be addressed and i do agree there need to be some limit but some how the rule needs to be changed to make sure that it doesn't favor specific nations

Actually the USA is in a great position. Consider that all their ports apart from perhaps Hawaii are going to be cores. Now France and UK if they get their historical colonies and even if UK releases the dominions are going to have more ports by quantity. But ports in non-core ports are only giving 25% of the points by Paradox compared to a cored port. Since UK has around 16 cored ports with Gibraltar and Malta (17 while they own Heligoland) and the USA has around 17-18 with Alaska and one of Hawaii or Cuba (USA can get cores on Cuba with the Ostend Manifesto), they're relatively equally matched, with the extra british colonial ports allowing for UK to be the historically #1 dog if it develops the economy to pay for the top dog fleet. its France thats outclassed badly, having only 8 cored ports (9 if it gets Nice). And since PUIR 15, UK and France can't get cores on all those little Carribean Islands. So that puts USA at even more of an advantage relative to them.

Now if you wanted to make a case for a truly disadvantaged nation, you should have picked out Austria, with only 4 cored ports to start and 5 total with Venice. And then it gets steadily worse, as Italy ends up with cores to claim 4 of those 5 ports anyway.

With my current gameplan i will have 10 cored ports and 6 non cored. So roughly in the same leage as France. Donīt feel to bad about it.

Yeap, with the possibility to get cores on Uruguay by decision you actually got more cored port potential than I do. Sure doesn't sound that bad at all does it.

Invade France GOGOGO!

In fact, maybe I should be rearranging French regions to give them an extra cored port or two like I have with UK and Germany and Austria in the last several PUIR versions, for real balance purposes.

I'm gonna change the wording of the alliance rule to be along the simpler, easier to read lines that you guys suggested last week. I will have that done by the end of the evening.

EDIT: I adopted the change to mid-session alliances so they are made with the asterisks in the game chat and posted to the forum afterwards, rather than with the steam screenshots and stuff. After talking to Felicity, we are leaving the rules about having to renew alliances periodically in place, but we are open-minded about changing them in the future if the feeling remains that they are not working the best for the game.

BTW, everyone on the roster should have an embassy up by tomorrow, or we'll probably have to kick the non-embassy people for not being serious enough about the game.

sounds interesting, with the way Germany and Italy historically change alliances on a second's notice/thought it doesn't feel wrong to play with it and see what works best.

Does anybody mind if I record this game to post on youtube? I have channel and I feel like this one will be quite good entertainment. :L

If you have any concerns do ask, I'll clarify anything that needs to be clarified.

I'd love to record the TS banter as well, because that's what makes the game good fun besides the warring and scheming. Of course I don't have much of a channel to speak of but if people wanted their channels in the description then I'd do that.

Also I will just say I'll be posting them at least two weeks after they happen, or else people will be able to see and hear my plans :L
