The Portuguese ambassador must respectfully postpone such an exchange until a later date. The Islands will remain under Portuguese control for the time being. However, the Crown will exchange the islands immediately for Dutch African holdings. A purely cash deal will have to be done later, as every port held by the Portuguese Military is currently in high use. |

*The French Ambassador presents his credentials at The Hague* France sends greetings to the Netherlands and His Majesty Willem I. We hope to have friendly relations with the Netherlands. The Dutch must understand that as the Walloon population are Catholic and speak French, their status becomes the concern of France. Our first preference would be to have a neutral Wallonian state released as a buffer. However, Paris would be willing to undertake not to attempt to ally, sphere, or intervene in any way with Belgium, and to accept the reabsorption into the Netherlands of Wallonia as well as Flanders. However we would require the following conditions: - The Netherlands must renounce all current claims that conflict with, or are not negotiated with, the United Kingdom. - The Netherlands must renounce all current claims that conflict with legitimate French claims. - The Netherlands must sign a treaty respecting and supporting current French claims. If agreement may be concluded on the basis of these points, then we may look forward to some years of peace and friendship.

Austria greets the Dutch and supports their return of order to the rebellious Belgian provinces. This includes Flanders and Wallonia as both provinces were agreed to belong to the Dutch. Austria is willing to sign an unconditional defensive alliance with the Dutch as well as a conditional offensive alliance to support their european claims. Austria would also be willing to extend support to foriegn claims of the Dutch that do not conflict with the United Kingdom. Austria also denounces the bullying acts of France attempting to limit the potential of the Dutch cousins of the Germans and encourages other nations to support the Dutch right to restore order to its own territories. ~ Eisenblutberg |

France confirms that the Dutch Ambassador is correct. We would most readily sign an agreement along those lines. Paris would also be willing to accept a non-aggression or a defensive alliance clause in the agreement, to reassure Amsterdam that we bear no ill-designs upon the Netherlands.

Austria invites the Dutch to our new embassy, we have reformed our foriegn policies and wish to move forwards. Austria would like to ask the Dutch whether they would be interested in an investment deal between our nations. This deal would comprise a set amount of minimum economic investment in the Dutch by the Austrians, combined with a promise not to influence the Dutch in any way (unless asked to by the Dutch). Combined with this would be a clause asking for non-interference in affairs of german nations. We would be glad to hear from you soon on this matter. If you feel this proposal would work with a few alterations, do propose an altered form of the treaty. If you do not feel it would work then please do say however be assured, this offer will always be on the table. ~ Eisenblutberg |

That is amicable. We shall have to begin this investment deal after the first session then. A drawing up of a treaty now would be good though, with the first sum being £50,000? does that seem amicable to the Dutch? We await your reply. ~ Eisenblutberg |

We wish to offer our support in Dutch claims of Belgium. We would also be willing to sign a non agression pack. It is our belief that peaceful negotiations can resolve any and all conflict. We feel that your policy reflects that. As such we would like to open talks for mutual assistance and friendship when you feel ready.

The French Ambassador apologises for the sloth-like pace at which Paris has moved in drafting a treaty between our nations. Paris invites the Netherlands to review the following agreement, and to sign it if it is deemed acceptable by your King: http://z7.invisionfree.com/Blut_und_Eisen/...?showtopic=3685

France is pleased by the completion of the treaty signing. We expect to keep our borders peaceful and open for trade for many years to come. If we may be of further assistance to the Dutch, they have only to send a request to the Quai d'Orsay in Paris

Austria hopes that the Dutch would find it amicable to dissolve the treaty of Salzburg as Austria now finds itself in troubled times. We hope that the £50,000 that are due from the initial session are put to good use by the Dutch government bettering the lives of the now unified peoples of the Netherlands. ~ Eisenblutberg |

The American government is incensed at the Netherlands persistent disregard for our sphere, the Phillipines. While we have not once complained about the Dutch in the Caribbean, Guyana, and SE Asia, this recent over extension of the Netherlands trying to take more land so close to the hearts and minds of the American people has crossed a line. While USA has no plans to annex the Phillipines, we view these islands as an extension of American national security. |

USA demands the United Kingdom of Netherlands stop badgering American diplomats and constantly trying to pick a fight with us over trivial things. Do not be so quick to rise from conversation to rhetoric and our two nations will be less likely to be destined towards conflict. As of now the hostility coming from the Dutch makes me think they hope for conflict, not something I can say we are looking towards. While I disagree on your measures of American might, I do not believe our power warrants force against the Dutch due to their hostile rhetoric. However, if this does not change you will force USA's hand in finding Dutch rivals to align ourselves with. So far the United States government has done its best to stay isolated from European squabbles, however the condescension and hostile words coming from the Dutch and occasionally the British are leading us more and more towards aligning with Dutch and British rivals. While it is not too late for diplomacy, and hopefully never will be, USA demands the United Kingdom treat the USA as a competent rational state and not jump to insults at every USA provocation...I mean conversation.

As the Dutch Diplomats were unable to hear our diplomat at the European gathering over the sound of clanging metal, I wished to further clarify the growing divide between our two nations foreign policies. USA warns that barring a complete 180 degrees turnaround in Dutch policy towards the United States, the Dutch and by extension any Dutch allies, will be viewed as enemies of the state and threats to American interests. The following is a direct threat towards the Dutch provocative actions we made in the European thread, we feel the need to reitterate the ball is in the Dutch court on how we move forward. The Dutch may still find benevolent patience coming from the American government if the Dutch were to cool their anti-American rhetoric and work on your issue of laughing at your own jokes on teamspeak, both things we find to be grave offenses towards our sovereignty. -Decree to Dutch attempts at a European Union- A rattling of the sabers by a declining empire. This group has no real credibility and uses itself as a platform for blasting American policies towards aggressive rival nations under the grounds of victim because the British and Dutch diplomats cry the loudest. The Dutch and British should be the last people to cry foul about acquiring new territory, as they are giant empires stretching the globe ruled by tiny nation-states at home. How can the entirety of a continent be ruled by one small island? This Dutch and British saber rattling is nothing more than a weak plot to pull European nations who have been under the yoke of Britain for so long in colonial affairs, to now come to the aid of their colonial affairs in question with falsities about American ambitions with European powers. The rhetoric coming from London changes like the weather, one can not wholly trust anything said by the British government, therefore we must view you as a threat to American security. While the United States has not, and will not have any plans for European conquest, the inflamatory stance coming Westminster and it's Dutch puppet lead us to declare an intent to weaken their SE Asian holdings in any way possible.
