The Spanish crown would like to announce that it intends to sell the Colony of the Philippines to the highest bidder. The Philippines have flourished under the Spanish regime, but times have changed. Spain is undergoing transformation and can no longer support the Philippines. Send a private diplomat to the Spanish court with your offer. We will offer the rights to annex the Philippines to the highest bidder.

Bidders can submit either payments now (before the next session) or submit payments at a later date (after next sessions). Obviously the Spanish crown will weight payments differently depending on the date of payment.

Congress has denied funding for the purchase of phillipines, as we are unsure the Spanish's ability to ensure transfer of power without intervention.

America views the sale of a free Phillipino people to European powers as an affront to America's push for democracy in it's sphere of influence. America would be willing to pay for the release of the puppet government in Phillipines to be in American control as a sphere of interest towards the Phillipine's plight towards sovereignty and self government.

The Japanese Empire does not recognise the ability of Spain to sell the Philippines. We will oppose with all our resources any nation looking to oppress the people of the Philippines. All nations should bear this in mind if they are considering entering this auction or hoping to win it.

Austria finds it laughable that nations such as Japan should believe they can oppose the Spanish government's will on this matter. Austria supports Spain's right to do what it wills with it's land. ~ Eisenblutberg |

We have no problem with this auction. We just don't want any nations out there under the illusion that by giving Spain money they will be able to take and keep the Philippine islands. Spain does not possess the ability to determine the future of the Philippines. That is reserved solely for the Filipino people.

The Spanish crown is proud to announce that the Netherlands have won the auction. We await the grand feast and invite the Dutch King to sign the treaty themselves. Regarding the Japanese ambassadors illusions. The Phillipino's were civilized before the backward Japanese, and Philippino's vehemently despise Japanese influence in the region. Any European navy would easily swat aside such a collection of wooden ships the Japanese possess.

America thanks the dutch for buying the full freedom for the Phillipines from the Spanish, however we must reaffirm our commitment to defending our sphere and friend the Phillipines from any outside aggression. If moves are taken to sidestep our influence in the islands through other means outside of our immediate control and acquire ownership of the Phillipines, it will be seen as an act of aggression on the United States.

The United Kingdom supports the right of the Spanish government in selling land it had legitimately held. Any attempts to disrupt the transition of power, by an outside power, shall be met with hostility by the British government.

Spain does not own the land, it owns the government, but the people are free. As we have stated prior to this, we intend to disrupt any attempts to undermine the freedom of the Phillipines people.

Austria congratulates the Dutch on winning the auction. We also would note that if the Japanese believe so strongly in Filipino determinism then I assume they mean to allow the Koreans and Manchu each a referendum to declare independence. Austria also warns against America's vieled threats concerning the Dutch control of the Filipines and supports the United Kingdom's principled stance against the sabre rattling of Washington. Austria vows to financially support the Dutch in the case of aggression in violation of their territorial integrity. ~ Eisenblutberg |

It is good to know that Austria supports the territorial integrity of other nations. We would however suggest you secure the territorial integrity of your own homeland before meddling with the affairs of nations on the other side of the planet.

There is no veil to our threats, Phillipines are in our sphere and direct influence, any attempt to undermine that by any nation will be met with consequences from Washington. I think I have stated my position on this quite clearly. I am willing to reimburse the Dutch financially for being mislead by the Spanish, and reward the Dutch for freeing the Phillipines, however we can not allow any nation other than USA having direct control of the Phillipines once the Spanish abandon the Phillipine people. |

The Dutch Government is extremely offended that the USA government considers that they own or have the right to own the Philippines. If the USA seeks to fight a war over something they have no right to then let the world see the aggressive and unprovoked nature of American Jingoism. For they seek to meddle and interfere in something they have no right to and something they do not understand, for I can say as the King of the Netherlands we intend not to annex the Philippines but to allow its continue autonomy that it has under the Spanish government to exist, but be apart of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands with said autonomy. This is a more logical and better situation for the Philippines as the Netherlands already have a significant presence in the region which will help the Philippines remain safe and autonomous. - King William III |

I can't imagine anything more disrespectful to the free peoples of the Phillipine islands to have one puppet government be swapped out for another one due a small amount of funds being transferred. Let me restate this, Spain does not own the direct rights to the future of the Phillipines people, and our claim to Phillipines sphere is more of a claim than the monarchy of Netherlands has conjured up after the fact the Phillipine people became free.
