So I have been talking to Kristjan and Felicity about an idea I had to get people more active on the forums and out of the shadows of steam after the first week or two. I propose we have a Prestige bonus from each valid post on the forums each week before the edit saves day. Posts in between the end of edit saves and the session should be counted towards the next week. A couple rules or guidelines I want people to weigh in on for making these posts valid or not. The following do not count towards a valid post but do not automatically disqualify it necesarilly (up to GM). 1) No Out of Character talking. Treaties, edit requests, basically any post not in someone's embassy, or made up institution such as Magister's Newspaper thing. 2) Must be original, no repeating posts count, or repeating someone else's words. Answering someone could be worth valid 'character' points if the GM deems it so, but not expect it. Can be something you did in a previous session. The following count towards a valid post (GM discretion if people are abusing this) 1) 144 points can be gained to unlock the 1 point you can gain per post. Characters that unlock points do not include spaces or punctuation. 2) Words must be coherent (GM discretion for now) and in character for each letter to add up to 144 valid points. 3) The maximum Prestige points you can gain is 1 per post, and a maximum of 5 per week. This is all I have for now off the top of my head but interested to hear what others think. |

I do like the idea. I wonder if the bonus could be a bit higher to discourage some laziness, perhaps scaling with each session. There definitely needs to be some incentive for forum activity, like the friday game had. |

I disagree, we already had this in World in Revolution, it's not a bad thing but I prefer quality over quantity. What might happen is that we have bunch of posts in which everyone would say "Hello" to everyone else, being nothing but a spam. It worked out greatly in the first game but we barely had any diplomacy in the game after that, even though there was almost the same amount of players or even more. |

ya those type of posts definitely wouldn't count. It would have to be original content to be worthy of points. |
