The idea for this topic comes from my vacation in austria, when I got almost hit by a lightning. We were walking high in the mountains, far above the tree line. We knew it was going to rain there, due to the clouds. We walked really fast, just to get back to the chair lift in time. But found a marmot, and we examined (and filmed) the animal for quite a time, and pretty much forgot about the rain. Then it started to drizzle, we noticed, and continued our path. For almost half an hour we stepped trough the drizzle, and then downpoor started. We ran a bit quicker, but not too quick, the stones on the flank of the mountain were really slithery. Then, suddenly, a lightning strikes the ground 10 meters near me: FLITS KRRRrrrrrrrr...BAM!: Thunder, as loud as it could sound. My two sisters paniced, and started crying. me, my father, and my mother stayed calm, but a next bad thing came to our minds: the path we had to take, led us near an iron construction, and we were like RUN!!! then we finally reached our destination, and my sisters finally calmed down. I thought some of you had some experiences like this, tell them. |

slithery stones... haha that sounds funny Cool story btw. I once got hit by a drunk driver while crossing along the crossing when I was 7. I survived but I was in hospital for 2 mounths...It still gives me problems. I grumble at anyone who gets drunk.

^^ That was you? I could have sworn I read about that somewhere...I can't remember where...ooh, was it in the Journal? I've got the most interesting near-death expeirence, at least yet. When I was about seven I lived in Canada and moose would come out of the woods and into the neighborhoods all the time. And they had a "Shoot the Moose" contest where whoever had taken the best photograph got a prize like a free dinner or something. So whenever a moose came around, people would gather around to try to take pictures. It just so happens that one day a moose came into my backyard. And this was a military base where each house had about four seperate nice-sized homes in them and we didn't have any fences, so there were about thirty people standing near the house taking pictures of this moose. I was standing on the side of the house, wanting to go inside, so I ran to the back door. As I ran, I remember the people yelling. As I got to the back steps, I heard a galloping noise and I turned my head just to see the moose whoosh run by me. As I had been running, the moose had seen me and started charging after me. I didn't have any clue what was happening until after my mother explained it to me. My Dad won the "Shoot the Moose" contest by the way, with the picture of the moose that nearly gorged me to death. I can see it from my desk right now.

eh my memory is kinda crappy but i remember this clearly enough. i think i was 6 years old and i was a my uncles tennis club. me and my two cousins Lisa and Danielle had stuffed ourselves inside a big inflated intertube and were gleefully making our way about the pool when suddenly the balance tipped and i was sent face first into the water, at first i was just pissed about it but my irritation turned to horror when i discovered i could not get up again and was stuck in that position for 4 minutes while my cousins tried to unsuccessfully pull me back up being stuck like that may not sound like much but let me tell you it is f**king horrifying, especially when dipshit the lifeguard decides now is a nice time to ignore the little scene in the pool, after my cousins screamed at him for a good couple minutes he finally got off his ass came down and easily heaved my head out of the water. naturally i burst into tears the moment i got air in my lungs and finally got my mums attention, but looking back on it i'm still ticked about how long it took that guy to realize a drowning was going on especially since WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE POOL!!! |

I got hit by a car twice. The first time was when I was about 7, and it was the guy's fault for NOT turning on his turn signal... what's funny is that that guy was a freaking COP! The second time was a few summers ago, I got hit on my bike by an old lady, but I just got up, looked at her and frowned, grabbed my bike and took off. After 65, retest the people for their license, geez.... |

i was walking back to our beach house after spending some time by the sand. i heard a huge cracking sound and i looked behind me and a wave crushed a log that had floated onto land. the wave cept stretching towards me with incrdeble spped. by the time i began running it was nearly on me. i did the worst thing ever in that situation... i jumped on a log. now with sneaker waves never jump on a log because the wave will carry u and the log into the ocean. anyways the log split in half and i made a desprate jump for the grass line and i managed to grab on to some roots and pull myself upp the hill. i just remeber being pretty calm and i didt yell or panick i just did what i had to do... |

Back in 7th grade (3 years ago for me) a huge storm had picked up flooding the town. My last class was outside the school and most people had to head back in. I already had all I needed so I decided to cut across the football feild and head down the steps, which I slipped on and fell about 5 feet. I was ok, besides a fe bruises. By that time the rain really picked up and I had no idea what was 10 feet infront of me, but i kept walking on. A white pick-up truck stopped and beeped it's horn, as if saying "hey, need a lift?" but me, thinking better of the situation, shook my head and continued walking and it drove off taking a turn. A few moments later it appeared again and beeped the same way, I continued walking, and it began following me. I went into a jog in the rain and soon came to the crossroads that led to my house. I began to cross quickly, remembering that I was being followed and that the light had told me to not cross about 2 steps into the road. A car nearly ran into me and I stumbled out of the way continuing across. I stopped on the other side under a tree to give myself a breathe when all of a sudden a huge ~CRACK~ sounded up and a large flash appeared infront of me. less that 18 meters away lightning struck. I did not panic, but felt in a daze as I regained my bearings. My feet felt like rubber as I continued home, and in my mind all I could think about was how the lightning came across as more of a dazzling purplish-blue than the white i've seen from a distance. As I turned into the road that my house was on I had to go up and down several hills, nearly being picked up by the water that flooded the bottom of the hills. I waded through and got to my house. Let myself in, as well as my dogs. Took a deep sigh, and began my homework, that had been smeared in the rain. "What a long day" I breathed to myself as I put my work away and fell asleep, as if nothing had happened. |

yeah I was born december, 21, 1987. my mothers ambicial cord had somehow wrapped itself around the ring, and middle fingers on my left hand. they opperated on me the day I was born.. I got home fine christmas day. I was still high off the stuff they used to knock me out.. I'm missing my ring, and middle finger on my left hand, and the tip of the third toe in on my right foot.. Thats the biggest injury I've ever had. I was to young to remember it. |
