All I know is that Nature will continue, no matter what happens to us.

It's all about balance... nature is my word assosiated to that balance on our planet...

Gods?... hmmm maybe... dunno don't care... gods can be just asmuch a fly as an omniputent being as for as my knowledge goes... Humans can be gods in certain situations.... perserving your life for 'him' or... as sarah said 'it' is just plain standard human sheepyness... BAH

no balance is the answer... yup *nods*
it's all about balance.

I think we were talking about gods, nature, and the essence of the universe.

The only thing that bugs me is when people say that there is no god. Really? Then who the hell made the universe and us? Santa?!

And people who think gays are evil and should burn in Hell. That's not true. I think that deep inside in all of us, is a little gay.
Ask a guy about this and he'll reply, "Then prove it!"
Tell him, "Do you like watching two women having sex with each other?"
"No, I like to see a man and a women making love."
"Do you like seeing a man with a fleecid penis?"
"Hell no! I like guys with big, hard thobbing c**ks!"

And after he said that, he'll look at you and say, "I guess your theory is true."

ok kids, this is the historical record about the creation of santa, get close the fire and liste carefuly:

Christmas and Easter, which are the two biggest Christian holidays, were both originally pagan holy days. In fact, up through the fourth century Jesus' birthday was celebrated on January 6th, not December 25th. Yule was celebrated in northern Europe at the winter solstice in late December. It was one of our ancestors biggest pagan gatherings. Even after the kings were bribed into accepting Christianity and forcing the people in their lands to convert, many people still worshipped the old gods even though they faced death by doing so. Pagan celebrations such as Yule lived on. The church's campaign of terror had worked only so far, so then the church's strategy changed. They adopted the pagan holy days and made them their own. They began to celebrate Jesus' birthday at Yule, and over the centuries the two became interwoven so thoroughly that today no one questions what a burly man on a sled, or the exchanging of gifts, have to do with the birth of Jesus. No one realizes the similarities between Santa and Thor. The same thing with Easter. Originally it was a springtime fertility celebration - hence the symbolic egg and rabbit. What do eggs and rabbits have to do with the resurrection of Jesus?

Yes, the universe could be one entity in a bigger one, or there could be universes in an atom. But who cares ? We've got enough to discover in our own universe, let's wait a bit until we choose another one to explore...

anyone read the books series of Raymond E. Feist? He has a very interesting theory on the universe.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everything was one and the same the same type of matter...in a huge ball. In an odd explosion time was created....so was the universe(time was made so everything wouldn't happen all at once.) out of one matter. Things quickly change as the greater gods (good, creation, chaos, evil, life, knowledge) and lesser gods(water, earth, fire, war, luck) displayed to mortals as sentient beings but in reality only a part of life given a body for mortals to interact with. but in the beginning only 2 gods were there, Malar and mythar. God of creation and blind god of distruction. Mythar weaved the web of life, malr tore it apart, mythar picked up the peices and kept going. But mythar started dropping peices and from those sparng life(the Valheru). The strongest beings in the universe (mortal beings). More threads dropped and then the parts of life were given form. The chaos wars ensued as the valheru defied the gods. Reality was ripped apart and rifts were formed. Some call this the time of the mad god's rage. As the greater god of destruction and evil went insane (Oh Crap!) and started killing all in sight. As the valheru were defeated(melded into one being and put into an artifact of immense power linking all life of the planet midkemia together so when the artifact was used all life would die so the valheru could be in our plane of existence again) Anyways the other elder gods turned on the god of destruction and evil and place him in a mountain the size of our planet on a planet the size of our sun, millions of galaxies away. The god of life and creation ,the god of good and the god of knowledge died in the process. Still though the god of destruction and evil could and can still influence anyone to his cause(like im gonna tell you (i know the name) without the person knowing). Also many theorize the entire universe as one being who is learning by creating these things.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok its over now take a minute to let this sink in. turn on the fan. lay on your bed. and tell yourself your not crazy.

That kinda reminds me of Tolkien's creation myth in the Silmarillion, Ainulindale. It tells how Iluvatar, the One, created the Ainur, among whom the greatest were the Valar. They played beautiful music that told the tale of the coming creation, while being conducted by Iluvatar. However, Melkor, the mightiest of the Valar, in his arrogance thought he could make much more beautiful music than Iluvatar. Therefore, there was discord in the music. Iluvatar chastised Melkor, and because of Melkor's arrogance Iluvatar gave the power and responsibility of creating Iluvatar's vision of the world to Manwe, the second of the Valar. Needless to say, Melkor was pissed, and so started a war among the Ainur. Eventually, Melkor and his forces were defeated by the other Ainur, and were banished from Valinor. Melkor became Morgoth, the dark lord, and was responsible for the first evil in the world.

I find them easy to remember. Plus, they usually mean something significant about their character. Only it's in Quenya, high-elven, so unless you have a reference like the apendix of the Silmarillion, it's tough to figure out.
