Anyone Know Anything About Dream Interpretation?; I need some help

I don't even know why I'm posting this, but this seemed as good a place as any to ask the question. No one else has been much help.

If anyone who reads this knows anything about dream interpretation, or psychology, please help me out here.

For years, I never dreamed (or never remembered them). From a young age well into high school, I couldn't tell you a single dream I had.

Then I took a class on Creative Writing, and we started doing these exercises (involving 60 cycle music) that were supposed to tap into our subconscious.

Now, I dream all the time. Almost every night. And, with few exceptions, every dream is the same.

I dream that someone, or something, is trying to kill me. The face of this person/thing is never constant. I'm running from it, sometimes alone, sometimes not...but I'm always running. Sometimes I hide from it, sometimes I try to kill it, but I always end up running in the end. It never catches me, yet I never reach anywhere safe, and the dream always ends with me on the run, trying to escape, trying to get to safety. I wake up grasping at that glimmer of hope, that one chance that I might get away, but I never know whether or not I do...

These feelings of deperation, of searching, of trying to escape seep into my everyday life. I am in deperate need of guidance.

oh shit man, sorry to hear this, but i'll try to help you as much as i can, which i hope can help you at all.

you said that you did something that tapped into your subconcious, so maybe these feelings that are portrayed inside your dreams are from your subconcious, like if you feel like something or someone, or some dream or some lost hope or your past is chasing you and will never let you go, and you can not escape it, it's because you either your subconcious feels like you probably haven't completed something that you wanted to do, or you need to face your fears, i'm sorry i tried my best.

sigh...no, thats the thing. Its more a feeling of need, that feeling you get when your deperately searching for something that you can't find...

Look, sorry I brought my personal problems to the forum. I just had a bad night last night, and these things I talked about seemed amplified.

Sometimes that's related to something you did and the result was a overwhelming feeling of guilt....Normally something bottled up inside of you and you haven't told anyone yet because you are uncertain of the reaction from the person you tell. Running away from this person or thing is really this burden chasing after you.....If you don't release whatever this is, it will chase your subconscious until you go mad.......You can tell us.....We won't tell <_<

I don't keep secrets. If something needs to be said between myself and someone, I say it, no matter how difficult it is. I'll think though, maybe there's something I can't think of...

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but don't worry about dumping on us, that's what we're here for. ;)
I'm thinking that because you've done exercises to tap into your subconsious, it may be a repressed memory trying to surface. This can be very bad, as it leaves most people feeling sort of incomplete, like they're missing something. I'd suggest meditation, as that is as good a place to start as any.
If these dreams continue like this, you should probably seek professional help. Hang in there.
