Okay, this is all theories mind you. I'm going to regurgitate something that's already been said just so I can keep my train of thought going in the right direction. Just bear with me. Sleep paralysis is thought to be caused when you wake up suddenly and unexpectedly deep within REM sleep. Ususally your body has shut down most of your functions. This would include shutting down: movement (hence paralysis), sight, and hearing. Some scientists theorize that the sensation of movement (often felt by the inner ear), hearing loud noises ( a heavy ringing, a hum, or a "wooshing"), and the sensation of seeing bright light... is the result of your brain kicking into overdrive in an attempt to bring your senses online suddenly. This is where many scientists belive the feeling of being abducted by aliens comes from. |

Yeah, being abducted by aliens was one of the thoughts that went through my head, but I wasn't probed or anything, and I didn't see any little green men, so I didn't hold onto that theory long. I don't think I had an OOBE, because I distinctly remember being inside my body, I just couldn't move it. I didn't see any movement besides my feet and the black, tangled lightning on the edges of my vision. |

I didn't have anything sphingter puckering interesting happen to me because I too sleep like a log but this happened to me. I wasn't feeling very good at the time ( stomach ache, head ache) well one time i woke up in the middle of the night i looked around and imidiatly (how the **** do you type that) felt like blowing chunks. Every movement, everything i did seemed to move at a speed higher than my perception could take and i could see double images of myself very very disorienting after awhile it wore off and i went back to sleep. man i wish i could have an out of body experience or as they say astral projection. |

I'm disappointed that sleep paralysis is pretty much the only thing weird that's ever happened to me. I've had a few lucid dreams, but they don't count because whenever I figure out that I'm dreaming, I instantly wake up. <_< |

Every once in a while I have a really good dream. But not too often that they get crowded. The trouble is, I often forget dreams before I have the chance to write them down. <_< |

I think its just a matter of concentration and meditation. Not easy, mind you, but fairly simple. |
