Problems I Had From The Beginning; ...

there ar some nasty problems I experience in flash which take a lot of my time when animating. I was wondering if some of you can help me with these.

1. Sometimes, when I want to fill an object with a certain color, it doesn't do anything. Then I check for holes in the object...I try it again, and it still does not do anything. In the end I got so sick of it, so I make it again, and this time, I have no problems, but I spent 30 minutes, trying to figure out what the problem was. Anyone knows how this comes? I'm very sure that I was not trying to paint a symbol, and everything was on one layer. Nothing was grouped either.

2. sometimes, when I'm drawing lines, something really weird happens. I start drawing my line (wether it's brush or pencil, I have the problem with both.) , and when I release my mouse button, a lot of colors change and/or fills dissappear.

3.When I want to color shadows, in trees for example, I easily go to the color mixer panel,I take the color of the trees, and I raise or lower the bar of the brightness, then I paint. Now it happens, that when I simply click the brightness bar, the whole tint of the colors change. Someone knows how to prevent this from happening?

Hey

In reply to 1. you have to make sure that you have the correct layer selected. If it still ahppened, make sure that you select the fill box to 'Fill large gaps' or whatever.

Also if it's not on the white page, it has trouble filling, so try clicking in the corners of the drawing and stuff.

About the other 2... i get number 2. but i dont get the number 3.

about 1, I already tried everything you said, but that won't work. I'm also sure that I'm working on the right layer, with all the outlines on that particular layer.

and about 3, I'll try to make some screenshots in which it becomes clear...

I had that same problem to answer you #1 question....All you have to do is zoom out a little bit....don't ask me why I don't know.....All i do know is that it works and if it doesn't, zoom out again and add the Fill large gaps feature...

About #2 That happens to me to and that's because the wacom pen isn't all that perfect....There seems to be a bug in the way it opperates sometimes.....I've had instances where i'm trying to erase something and it draws a liine with the current fill colour instead....

And #3 has never happened to me before and I hope that it never does

I think I know what you're talking about with #2. It happens when you are drawing and your lines intersect. Sometimes, if the vector points that are very very very close together don't agree with each other, certain points can destroy other points, or merge with them. This screws up the whole structure of the lines and fills, because when you're using paint, you aren't creating true lines, but in fact you're creating perimeters (which are filled with color).

I hope I'm making sense, but I do know what you're talking about (it happens a lot when you're optimizing also). The only thing you can really do is either find the conflicting points and shuffle them around with the sub-select tool, or undo a few times and redraw the object.

about 3, I'll explain it again.

and this is what I get when I just lower the brighness bar, and use that color
first

while this is what it should look like
second

btw, that picture is a piece of a background of my new movie. It's not finished yet, but I think you figured that out already.

well, I'm hoping to finish my movie before january. That's why I got myself a team of writer, 4 people, they try to get the story done by tomorrow, then I will translate it to english myself, and I will send the script to someone who has an extreme good knowledge of the english language, so he/she can get the mistake out of there, and use some nicer english in the dialogues, so it all sounds better. I hope to get someone from this forum to help me. Then I need a few voice actors with english as their mother tongue (8, to be exact). Then I gotta aimate it all, make sure that everything is right...
a lot to do...

this episode is about the destruction of the world, and the destruction of human kind. The star of this movie will be a hermit, who lives in a treehouse. one day, while he was studying the writings of the old alchemist "(enter name here)", he heard a rumour outside. He goes outside, and he hear a little girl screaming, plus she hears the sound of sword drawing. He hears a shrill scream (the girl), and he thinks 'shit'. He hurries down in 'deathride style' :) , and he finds the girl, death. He decides to take her to the cemetery, to the gravedigger...

While this all happens, he realises a few things, and in the end , he realises the truth of the writings of the alchemist, and he will fullfill the ceremony the alchemist decribed in the writings.

this is not all information there is to tell, but I won't reveal that for now, it would spoil the whole story...
there is also a history , of what happens before this all, that will be in my movie too...

I'm from lommel, Belgium, and therefore I speak dutch

Well, about prob 2 I have to agree with Adam, I figured out the same thing a wile ago.
Flash is basicly a program wich uses masses of coördinates and connects them with vectors. Then fills in the inside. So sometimes the algoritme messes up and things become... bad. Anyways, I've never encountered the color problem myself. It's probably just a bug in your Flash. Maybe upgrading helps I dunno.
And 1 is a nasty one indeed, I always need to find workarounds when that happens. But remember, turn on the layer outlines and view up close. This shouldn't be a problem when you close large gaps tough. I guess no program's perfect.

does not work with gaps, tried it with outlines, no gaps. The color problem is not uniques for my flash either, I saw other people with the same problem.
and since you figured the problem out a while ago, why didn't you know why it happens when I asked you about it last week
