in flash mx and mx 2004, one can flip the stylus while drawing and have it become an eraser. the only difference is that in flash mx the eraser was a larger brush size than the paint brush used to draw. since the "eraser" is also pressure sensitive you could erase quickly with the large eraser size. BUT in mx 2004 when i draw with the brush then wish to erase, the eraser size is the same as the brush i was using. this makes it annoying to erase quickly and i do not wish to keep switching brush size in order to erase. any one know how i can set it up to remember a brush size i want to keep the eraser feture at? i tried putting the selected eraser tool at a larger size, but it treats that as a sepereate tool than the "tilt eraser" feature. on top of this it seems that the selected eraser tool is not pressure sensitive ...can any one undertsand teh question even.. |

hmm.. that's a good point. I hardly ever use the eraser on the other end of the pen, but being pressure sensitive I can imagine is very handy for some. It's probably a quirk in Flash MX 2004... if I were you I'd mention it on the macromedia site as a wish-list item for Flash 8. |

8ball better be good! or im gonna be mad, i hope they can fix all the brush errors as well. Anyway, as for ur question. I have a very simple solution..... push "e" using shortcut keys is a step u must take. It makes animation/illustration tons easier. Just set ur eraser size to woteva u want, and u can switch between the eraser and the brush using "e" and "b" , its alot quicker than having to flip ur pen around and then flipping it back. Also, u should send this bit of information to macromedia. They like it when people find errors and report them, coz it can lead them to other similar errors and such. |

yeah but he's talking about using the eraser with pressure sensitivity.. .currently the only way to do that is by flipping your pen over. |

the eraser pressure sensitivity does work, but the brush size is the same as the paint brush you draw with. i enjoyed in flash mx the feature (probably not intended) of having two brush sizes for the "drawing" end of the stylus and the "erasing" end of the stylus. i will ask at macromedia, good idea-r! ![]() p.s. i did update the drivers and tried again. the wacom tablet setup menu recognized the two sides as different sizes, but it was the same in mx 2004 |

no, it works for him, it's just that now in MX 2004 it's working differently to how it was in MX. In MX, the pressure sens of the eraser was huge.. but now it's limited to the brush size you're using (I'm simply repeating his first post guys). |

I just got a wacom tablet but havn't had the time to use it. If it's all it's cracked up to be, then I can't wait. hearing that Chulaid and all of these amazing animators use pens, I can't beleive I didn't get mine sooner. I heard it takes a long time to get used to though, oh well, in the long run I am sure it will be worth it. |
