hola. i know that my problem is probably fairly simple, but i am running flash MX 2k4, and i am working on my first longer movie, which seems to be more trouble than it is worth. my problem at the moment, is that i need to imort a butterfly animation i made into my movie.... it is 2 layers, and around 250 frames and i need to make it into a single object or movie which i can use a motion guide on...without clipping, or having a solid box around it....just the cropped movie....object.....THING. can anyone help? thanks! diElse

Hey diElse.. welcome to the forum
First up: what program did you make the animation with? And so what format would you be trying to import? If you import a swf file, then it should appear in the timeline as a series of 250 keyframes. You need to:
Now open your Library (press F11, or Ctrl L) and drag the graphic out onto the stage. You can now attach it to a motion guide. better way: The other, better way to do it would be to open both Flash movies, select both layers with all the animation and Copy Frames (as above), then press Ctrl F6 (switches between Flash files) and Paste Frames into the other movie. Doing it this way would keep the layers intact and all the animation manageable. Then you'd need to put that into a Graphic symbol (as above) so you can use it with a Motion guide. Of course all these steps may be useless if it turns out you are trying to import a different format. If so, then more info about it is needed.. otherwise, good luck
