Hi, I just started using flash, and already my first question pops up. I got myself some sprites of videogame characters, and now I want those characters to move nicely trough a movie. How do I do that? I'm trying frame by frame, but it looks horrible... Sometimes I place a sprite a little bit too high, and then it looks really stupid (I'm sorry, I can't explain any better, my English is not that good, but I think some of you know what I mean) So is there any way to resolve this? Perhaps by creating an animation of a character, using some of the sprites, (so that it becomes something like a .gif) and putting that in the animation and let flash tween it? (Is this possible?)For what it matters, I'm using Flash MX 2004. Thank you |

The gif analogy you're talking about is called "movie clips" in flash. Pick your characters first frame and go to insert -> convert to symbol and pick movie clip from the list. |

Also, use onion skinning. I have a feeling you're going to ask what that is. Under the timeline there are some boxes with images of squares in them. Scroll over one of those boxes untill you find the one that says "onion skin". With this, you could see a faint image of what the previous frame looked like, so you'll know where to put the sprites. |
