I've been working with Flash for a few months now, and I'd have to say I've gotten a much better grip on the program than what I had when I just started with Flash. I started with Macromedia Director for computer animation, but when I realized the resources for help with the program where incredibly scarce, I decided to switch to Flash, and it seemed somewhat foreign to me at first, since Director and Flash are similar in some ways but very different in others. I've been trying hard to make a quality Flash that can some day be submitted to Newgrounds and possibly make it to the top five daily entires. Some times I seen these awards gained very easily, other times it looks like it can be quite a struggle. Either way, I'm hoping to submit something that can one day get one of those awards. With that said, I'd like to show you a Flash I have been working on for some time that's only about 25% complete. If there's a problem, I'd rather be able to fix it now rather than finish it and find myself going back to fix a continous mistake again and again throughout the movie. So if you wouldn't mind to watch it and share your advice, I'd highly appreciate it. The movie is entitled Pikachu's Revenge (So what if I'm a Pokemon fan?), which features Pikachu vs. just about every other character you can think of. Too many times I've seen Pikachu as a victim of Flash animation, and I thought an interesting twist would be where the tables are completely turned around. And to fit the Newgrounds audience, instead of each character using special powers or stuff like that, they use good old fashioned firearms. Even though the movie is obviously incomplete, there is some slight swearing (A bit, nothing serious) and there will be some violence, but none at the moment since I haven't gotten that far. With that said, please give it a look and tell me what you think. Pikachu's Revenge Preview |

Looks cool so far! I watched it 5 times. "Mercy is for the weak!" nice. I like all of the grafitti on the walls. There's a cool font called Degrassi that you could add in there. When Pikachu is walking you could make it look more realistic by flexing his ears a bit... give them a bounce. Or at least pivot the ear a bit better cuz right now it's bending and moving forward. Add some moonlight highlights and coresponding shading perhaps? That's all I got.. good luck getting that award! I hope you do. |

Aw man, i laughed so hard when sponge bob appeared. Hahahahaha. The only thing i thought it was lacking adding is shading/shadows, but if done right adding those should really up the quality. Good luck with getting that award, can't wait to see the finished peice! |

Sure is! The track being used is from TimeSplitters 2: Streets. The music used for the title (and possibly the credits once I get to it) is from Universal Nation Belgica. I'm glad you guys like it so far. I'll definitely consider putting in shadows and shading, since it would make the Flash look more professional. Again, thank you for your advice. |
