I am making a flash animation at the moment, which includes the use of alpha tweening. I have some text fading in and then fading out, but when I test the movie, the text doesn't appear at all. Can anybody help with this please? I'd be grateful if somebody could. Thanks |

Artist? Maybe? Please?

Uh. Stuff I can think of: *the movie isn't playing; there's some actionscript that stopped the movie *you're using graphic symbols with multiple frames and don't have enough frames in the actual timeline *something's wrong with your symbols I'm not really sure what the problem could be...

Thanks for trying but I know for sure that the first one is not the cause since other things are working around it (I am using the idea of Saul Bass' classic "The Man With The Golden Arm" credits, if you've seen it.) Basically, a couple of random lines go across the screen for each load of credits. They are working so that can't be the cause. As for the other two, the symbols are graphic symbols that in the tween just fade using the alpha slide. The movie works when I hit Enter, but when I "test" the movie, then it decides it doesn't want to... <_< This may be helpful to know though: I used the lesson on colour tweening and instead of changing the tint of the colour of the object, I used the alpha slide. |

Pfft, Puny Mortals..

Try exporting the movie and testing it outside of flash, if it works there but still not internally, just ignore it |

cool. Thanks in advance for the help. P.S.- must I convert the text to a graphic symbol first in order to make the alpha tweening work (even though it automatically makes it an instance of a symbol once you create a motion tween), or does it not matter that it's just normal text? |

Sorted. Thanks ASH 321. The problem was, as ash figured out, that I had the text set to "dynamic text" when it should have been "static text." Thanks again for trying to help all. |

lol, that's not what the problem was. I could alpha tween it, but it wasn't showing up, that's all. |
