Very simple, when you want it to stop, add a "Stop" Action on that keyframe Your button is simple enough too "Up" it how it would look normally, no change to it "Over" is when you put your mouse over the button "Down" is when you press the button "Hit" - you only really need to use this if your button stays on screen long after you press it, it's what it looks like after it's been pressed Have fun

With all due respect to all the Brackenwood forum members, I do hope that this forum doesn't turn like Newground's ! Speaking of which, I truly reccomend to all people that want to know how to do something, that have a few problems, need to know a specific code to do a specific thing in Flash, well I truly reccomend to these people that they first try to find out the answers by themselves. How ? You'd say. Well, by browsing a little bit through flash websites, "keyword" searching google or yahoo. And what you could even do is make a "keyword" topic search on NG's Flash Forum, there you'll find hundreds, if not thousands, of topics that match your keywords. Search, browse, and most of the time, the answer is right under your nose
 I hope that didn't sound too agressive <_<

ya that sounded a bit aggressive, if we aren't aloud to ask simple questions then why do we have a flash help forum?

Well then I'm sorry, it wasn't meant to be agressive. My bad I just wanted to give you guys a hint, actually, it's more of an "advice for life" if you will, because in life, not everything will be "served to you in a golden plate" if you know what I mean. You will have to find and do stuff by yourself. I'm just saying what people used to tell me when I also kept asking a bunch of flash questions about how, when, why. And I guess that if these guys that were there for a long time told me that, there might have been a reason. And there was, because most of the answers I'm looking for, I can find by myself. Except a few stuff of course. So I guess it's just something I felt I should share lol. Maybe it's a cycle of knowledge or something. But once again, I'm sorry if that sounded agressive. It really wasn't meant to be. It was more like a tip or something. And to answer your question of why would there be a flash help forum ... Well, I guess you kinda got me there. Maybe I'm too much used of NG Forums were the same questions are asked over and over again, therefore, explaining my "agressivity", leading me to tell you to look for yourself a little bit. So now I won't say anything, you just do what you gotta do and I'll try to help in any way I can. Because after all, Brackenwood Forums ARE different

Since we are on the subject and I don't feel like starting a whole thread on this.. I do agree people should try to look things up first, and then if they can't find it and ask, they should get nice responses. You just have to assume everyone has looked.. or you could respond with "did you try google yet?". The best way to learn something is to hunt it down and figure it out. But you can also learn things by having everyone tell you how.. it's just less engraved into your brain. Also, it does put a strain on all of the people who respond, but guess what... we wouldn't respond unless we had "teaching" mindsets and wanted to help in the first place. So bottom line is, try to search for stuff... you will thank yourself later and you may just learn more than you went searching to learn. Otherwise, come here and we'll help you. |

This is all good and well and all, except for the fact that the search button doesn't work... <_< Oh, and you know you said "Hit" was like a show after the button's been released? Not true..... as a matter of fact, "Hit" is the area where you can put your mouse and it will register the mouse being over that button. Therefore, it is never seen, only the effects of it. it can be any colour or shape. |

I sort of meant searching on Google.com.. And yes.. I really hate those text buttons that only register when you are just touching the outlines of the text. You have to get into the HIT state and draw a rectangle around where the text is... easiest way is just to copy the text in there however you do it (I usually just hit F6 a couple times to put keyframes in all the states) and then draw a rectangle around it.. with the fill set to something. |
