keep at it guys! here some faces i've been working on without ref. seems i have issues with eye placement anyways.here ya go  i'll be spending bout 3 weeks trying to perfect my heads and faces,then i'll move on to trying to perfect the bodies.and so on and so forth. |

nice faces n00b, But the one on the top right, the forehead looks kinda squished together. On the third one down on the right i cant tell if its a boy or girl. But overall really amazing stuff. |

Looks great Noob!. I like it =) Maby the profile view of the woman with the ponytail looks to have a "flat face" Usally a profile head has a diagonal line (the red one I made) But ofcourse it varies from person to person. Maby you wanted her to look like that. Just a suggestion

SEAL : can't say i understand what your saying about the forhead,thanks for the comment Com :i was goin more for a manly bone structure for that lady not a rounded elegant look. thanks anyway  i guess it does look a tad too flat.more studies soooooon.. Edit: now that i look at it compared to yours com,whoa! mine fuggin sucks :angry: :angry: time to practice diagonal lines on profiles |

to tearsinrain: not bad, cant really crit as there aint much there to crit on. heres one crit though....crop ur images or make them smaller when posting them up
to noob: liking them man, ive noticed u draw a lot of ur faces quite elongated, not a bad thing, its actually evident they are urs which is prob a good thing, cuz ur defining ur style. Some of them reminds me of Celine Dion. AGAIN IM POSTING UP COLOURINGS rather than sketches but...meh. Right, i have fallen in love with digital colouring, and i would digital colour my own line art pics if i had some. I dont really have time to draw my own line art at the moment, and i still need to work on how to create effective inked line art from my pics that i draw, but i have found some cool comic book tuts on how to define and ink the specific lines etc, but for now (i doubt u read any of that) i will just post up a bit of colouring i did in about half and hour. ignore the bg, not finished.  oh yeah one more thing, yeah i know its the blue falcon and weird dog thing, but i wanted to paint my version. As soon as i find time i will post up some inkings that i have done, for yall to rip to shreds.

to jemooky: aww cheers man, glad u like, and yeah twas me with the dragon, but looking back it aint that good now lol, but i still need to work out how to develop more dynamic poses, cuz if i draw a pic then colour it well, it can still look crap cuz maybe the pic doesnt look dynamic, and viceaversa. Yeah that pennyarcade story is cool. the artwork is brilliantly done too. u need to smooth ur lines in order to get the same style. maybe the head a bit big in relation to ur perspective. its not bad, i quite like its stance too, but i think if u realy smoothed up the lines it will look better. |

I wasn't aiming for that style. I was trying to get closer to the latest CTS comic, which has a bit of a brush-ink style. And another reason (excuse) for the lines is that I'm afraid to use the pressure sensitivity in flash 8, because my computer's actually too slow to use it properly  Thanks

To be frank, you've done better. The silhouette value is kinda poor to begin with, but adding onto the fact that the swords and his ruff are almost the same color, they blend in and become almost unreadable after more than a few feet away. One of the best indicators of a readable picture is squinting at it and see if it reads as a blurry mass. Or, if you prefer, you can get a near-sighted family member to stand four or five feet and have them critique. I'd start over with a new pose with him holding the swords away from his body. Edit: Also, what's with all the white space? Crop it down!

anghen u are becoming one of me favs members babe, u r awesome when it comes to critiques, as is humble. Dont take this as brown nose "i want ur babies kinda way" but i always take on board ur crits. teaches me a lot.great stuff. to colesif: i thought, a prince of persia type stance might be good:  except with his weapons pointing down. or a serenity type stance maybe?  i dunno, but keep in mind ur sillhoetted version while drawing him so that he is recogniseable. (...oops like ang said) |

to anghen: meh, i had another sketch with him usin the swords, the only reason i decided to paint it was because ive NEVER drawn him from the back before, i dunno maybe i had my head up my ass when i decided to continue with it, but i just wanted to do something different. as for the crop thing, it didnt seem that big on the canvas, which is really odd. do u suggest I change the color of the blades? (good crit, thanks for being hhonest) |
