ROFLMAO! Ok, I ain't gonna go there... no way josé!! Cole, I dunno man. I kinda liked the "from the back" view. It did need some tweaking but I think that you still can achieve the silouette value with only some minor changes to that pic. Mebbe give the arms some length so that the elbows stick out some more and so that the foreshortening you applied to the blades follows down the arms as well. The way you have it drawn it seems as if his fists are right beside his ears... bring them back so that he is reaching back (perhaps farther than might be considered realistic) and give his forepaws some bulk and size. He should be leaning forward quite a bit and since the only means you have of showing this is through perspective and foreshortening you have quite an exercise ahead of you! But do it, man! It is a very cool pose! To help mebbe draw some quick sketches of the same pose from different angles, like side on, front on, etc. It might help you determine how and where everything should go. And if you're afraid that it may not be quite realistic enuff... hey, it's a f***ng cat with swords! Btw, nobody commented on the colouring which is really good. The tail kinda blends in with the back leg but that's the kind of stuff you'll have to conquer to make this chicken fly. You can trash this whole idea if you want but I sense a future animation in which a pose like this'll really make the scene. *Edit: somebody throw NOOB! a valium.

I like it Cole, though his arms look to be a bit stubby with the angle they're at now. This is my first attempt at a landscape... or skyscape if there is such a thing. I made it while fiddling around with that twisted brush program that the eye likes to rant about.

Great picture Jigg. I know that not all trees grow in the same direction, but the middle-left tree looks a tad off. Also you should make the stars a little more concentrated in the lighter part of the sky, other than that it's great.
How long did it take you to do?

It's a "special" tree.
 You're right about the stars though, I'd change it but I think I deleted the original file. Not sure how the twisted brush save-thingy works... it's funky.I spent a couple of hours fiddling with the program, but once I got it mostly figured out it only took about 15 minutes to draw that scene. |

Looking good Jiggs! Your original file will be in your "sketchbook". Its a button on the top that looks like a book (go figure!). In there you can move pages, find all your old work, etc. Id post up a screeny for ya, but my server appears to be down at the moment..

Yeah, I'd definitely return to it sometime. It looks like a good start anyway. Aw, thanks for thinkin' of me man. You kinda made my day. And I did kinda disappear for awhile this summer. Jiggy's pic actually brings back some fond memories of it except the stars were bigger. That is one sweet pic, Jig! And I agree that a .swf of that scene with twinkling stars and the aurora moving around would be so totally cool. Geez, I wanted to bring my voice recorder to get some ambient sounds but I forgot it. There's a lot of noise happening late at night when it's "quiet". Coulda made a mean soundtrack to a scene like that.*sigh* |
