tfc, impressive. you shud try oils, they are easier to blend and don't dry as quick as acrylic,(actually, oils take about 20years to dry properly i found out in my art class, but they dry from the surface down) anyway giv it ta go. Bobly? whats this, newbies telling people how to post images? how dare ye!! nah i agree, can u guys make sure pics aren't massivified, theres a reason why people stand back when looking at a painting in a gallery, gives ya a clearer view u know? nice stuff!

That Simpson "wannabe" sketch was made with traditional blue col-erase pencil, and then scanned. I dont know the size of you wacom tablet, but the bigger the better. I had a small wacom volito before, and I couldent make anything in Alias Sketchbook with that. It was just impossible.. And another way of getting smooth lines is to draw fast, and consentrate only on 1 or 2 arches at the same time. I made a quick 3 min sketch drawing a cartoon face as an example. And its not realy that good, becasue its hard for me to draw when people are "watching" DOWNLOAD AVI FILE HERE 4.48MB (Divx format) ![]() |

thanks yeah it's in progress I start with gesture sketches in sketchbook pro or on paper then I block in my colors in photoshop so only select parts are finished. I'll post the finished version in a few days. too many digital artists are just photo ref-maniacs so i'm trying to bring a different style to it. nice pic comlock good to see i'm not the only one that likes that program |

Your comic could use more space between the panels. I hear it's a common amatuer comic mistake to have just a line, and no space, and they look much better when the "gutters" are added. I'm gonna do some comic pages soon too, for my drawing final. |

interesting work yem,u seem to be drawing the head guides, but not actually understanding how to use them, the faces are coming across as flat. think in terms of 3d,and study more on the perspective and planes of the face. *cough* loomis *cough* |

You are definatley improving Jem. But yea. There are some things with the 3d, like noob said. Like this head forexample. The nose is in a different angle than the rest of the face. You also didnt place it in the middle of the centerline you drew. And if you want the character to have a more apealing look you cold try to push the facial features more to the "standard head guide" Where the eye line is about in the middle of the head shape. But that is just a matter of character design. Not every character need to folow that rule. That would be very boring. But I realy like the other heads you drew. God job. I just critiqued the head I thought was the worst one^^ ![]() And here's my little scribble for today. Its just random sketches all over the paper. That thing on the top right corner isnt supposed to be anything^^. I was just trying to make different shadings with the Col-erase pencil. I was just drawing without Thinking ![]() ![]() And a little dog trying to put a smile on his face |
