to noob: its actually nither mate, its likea side profile turned a little, but not to the extent of a 3/4 view. to w'\__/'W>,/:'..>\/w, thanks....i think...i dont know what u mean by the lips, cuz they arent suppose to be straight on view. they looked fine to me. a straight on view of the lips at this angle wudnt work at all. im considering ur crit on the hair though. i think i might extend it out towards the side. to nubian: Yes mate that was the cartoon. i didnt know Aeon Flux wasa cartoon. cool, but yes man im surprised u knew what i was talking about. I actually didnt watch the cartoon, it was playing in the background when i was trying to catch up on uni work. to any mod: ban jubjub, this guy is too good. great self portriat mate, but it makes me more depressed that a monkey can actually draw better than me lol. |

:lol: I know for a fact that atleast 2 people here are alot better than me.Don't worry though,i'm no normal monkey.I was created by NASA as the next monkey to go into space but it didn't look too appealing to the media when i would crap in my hand and throw it at the reporters..so i was booted off the space program and i took a life of solitude out of the spotlight of space exploration and here i am. So as you can see we're really not that differant after all :lol: |

haha, sorry juggleballz, i wan't trying to confuse you, the only criticism about the picture was the hair, i was just trying to show noob that i thought that based on the shape of the lips, it was a 3/4's portrait (i'll try not to do that again, just too confusing) espen, sweet...now that bull just needs a setting like some sorta china shop  the only crit i'd give you is add a few tiny flames breaking off the huge ones.. (look at adam's fire tutorial again if you need to)rade, those are looking pretty good (i'm liking the consistancy, it's gonna look better than if the guy's head kept changing sizes during the animation) jubjub..wow man..as long as it's less than like... a month, that drawing's still freaking awesome...  i just got some non-photo blue pencils yesterday, but i'm not gonna post the drawings yet.. (my scanners quitting after it scans the picture and it's not the pencil's fault either...) |

haha, sorry about the name everyone, for the record, you guys can just call me graham... (i wasn't thinking so much when i made the name because i hadn't really looked at the forum much before making the name <_< ) jub jub: well, even though you might not be good at textures, your art is still scarily good... i guess if you really want to learn about learning about shading/textures... then go to this thread  hmm, well here's a picture i did for someone to cheer 'em up (ignore the horrible background..  ) haha, it's an emu btw

Here's my drawing for the day.This one was a pain in the butt.With the angles and the pose.It was a bugger trying to get it to all look natural. This is what i was doing most of sunday. <_< I hope it turned out alright.I dunno if i'd call it a sketch,it's basically a finished pencil pic.The right arm is big because it's supposed to be closer. |

impressive work jub,but that is one disgusting tangent *tangent: when lines from two seperate masses meet* in this case its the hand and the jaw,either she has a really deformed hand or she is just leaning her jaw against it,yeh,its obvious its the second one,but i know little nit picks like this are frowned upon in the biz. and i'm trying to figure out where the rest of her hand would go,through her face? try to figure out your drawing from all angles,don't just think about what u can see,but also think about what u know is there. Especially since u want to be a comic artist,beware of editors!!! they will annoy the f**k outta u. u have extreme drawing talent,u just need to work on composistion and understanding of form. |

Hey Jub, are you using reference for these pics? Little tip for the lines: when the line is in a lit area keep it subtle, when it's on a dark edge, feel free to define it more. The arm is also a bit too bright, it kinda distracts the eye from the point of focus; the face. It would look better if you gave it some more shadow. The pic is very good tough, good sense of mass and proportions seem pretty good. What paper are you using btw? |

Yeah,most of my realistic pics have some sort of referance,usually from a small picture. I know noob,it needs work hehe.This one had alot of things in it that i'm really bad at,kinda why i tried it .Her chin is supposed in be leaned on her wrist.The hand sucks and the shading on the arm is too light.And it's lacking detail. i'll work on it on a later pic,but not this one hehe,i erased and retried more than i care to.I'm new i guess to actually drawing something that looks realistic,i like comicy stuff more cause it can be kinda well...lower standards hehe...i think,not like i've pursued either. Anyways,thanks for the advice and critiques .Hey Noob,you've had to deal with comic editors? Think i'd have a chance at maybe penciling a underground comic cover or something?hehe |

  ________________________________________________________________________ Ok, the top one was done first at 3 am. so it was just a sketch (the bodys shit I know) and the second one was one I did last night at about 2 am ( I cant sleep anymore, it sucks) My friend said " make the ear lower, it looks to higih (on the second one)" so I changed that... looks worse to me. |

Good job, Tim. I'm not sure if I've ever seen you draw humans. I like the first one more.  Came from brainstorming an idea for an animation. Let me know what you think. I spent like... 15 minutes on it, so my feelings won't be hurt if you say it's bad. Just be honest And here I'm testing the silhouette values like a good artist:  Just screwing with you.
