New Masters Of Photoshop by Friends of ED I cannot recommend it, it shows of some profesionals showing of their artistic process, but I am let down by the integrity and depth of the tutorials. They say "do this" not "I am using these techniques because..." The above pages are from Sung Ho Henrik Holmberg, and is the only part that handles about painting. The others are mainly about composing and manipulating photo material. |

Damn Rubber, thats dissapointing that you dont actually reccomend it. Ive been trying to find a good quality digital painting book that actually shows technique forever now. Guess that Chapters gift card will sit in my wallet a 'lil longer now! |

You know http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/ has some very interesting stuff, use the menubar and go to analog > matte painting. They seem very helpfull, unfortunatly a single DVD easily gets 50$, I am thinking of purchasing the Landscape painting one from Dylan Cole, If I like I might invest in other ones, but they don't come cheap. |

What I wouldnt do to get some of the Gnomon workshop DVD's!! Unfortunately, according to the minimum system specs as described on the site, my computer wont handle them. Does anyone actually know if they will play in a regular DVD player? |

![]() The problem I see here is that there isn't exactly a lightsource, the shading here acts more like a texture. Try marking the areas where the big shadow is going to be, mind cast shadows aswell, do not shade detail-by-detail from the beginning. Most of all tough, do not fear of ruining your image, that will get you nowhere, just try it. And sorry but I don't know if Puddnhead has other places where he keeps his stash

Mmmm,i didn't really have a light source in mind
And when i do try it it's usually me figuring it out afterwards.I'll try to plan lighting before i go into any details in a drawing.thanks. ![]() EDIT--- I was searching, looking for some new artists and such online and stumbled upon this site.COOL STUFFI dunno if you already know about it but it had ALOT of cool artists on it.And links to alot of other cool places. I've also found a very bizarre flash site.Definately look through the whole site, there's alot of cool things to see on it HERE |

The hands are a little funkey, make them thinner and the belt buckle looks like its not aligned correctly and the eyes are too high.. bring them down to ear level.. I like the hair and clothes though
