Fixed it, I think. :P

Crotch is too low, it should be about halfway the body - bout where her belt is now.

That left arm isn't doing anything for me either. Looks like you just copied and flipped it, eh? Her torso and such are on a 3/4, but her arms are flat and straight on, they kill the illusion of depth. They look a might long too, but it's hard to tell.

Edit:
Very quick sketch:

Also, I just noticed her hips too. "Sexy women" typically lead with their hips when they walk, so her hips should be twisted more.

Wow Cel, I like how it looks.
Same for comlock and everyone else, really nice stuff you got there (why do you hate it???)
Here is another digi art I made for my friends:

not real lifedrawings. Nudemodels from cgtalk..
5-12 mins on each pose

Zwickel: Cant see you image.

Krob: I dont know exactly what to say... Just practice more. I had Wacom Volito before. It's very hard.

Cel: Nice. I love the way you shade with those gradients on all your flash images. I don't have anything more to add than what all the others said

And yes.. KIB: there's no pencilmania application. I was just beeing silly.^^
But I hoped that someonefelled for it. and search on google and all... (Like poor "theEye" that one time=))
Its just my little special way of enjoying myself sometimes^^

Crap. I got all excited that there was a program out there (still on version 1 but with at least one small improvement to 1.1) that simulated nice pencil marks like yours.

Shoulda realized when Google turned up nothing, but who'd expect a joke in this super-serious forum?

Catch o' the day! :)

Nice pics, BTW. Great plane break-down of the volumes. Why no feet?

I redid the helmet which I screwed last time.
Pencil version which is way better than the coloured, in pic:

Coloured version, maybe charcoal, dunno what it's in English. My cam screwed the pic quite nicely. I'll see if I get to take a better one:

I really screwed with the background colour but my teach said 'twas okay. Not very satisfied.. :/

But anyway. Comments always welcome, no matter what kind. :)

Well, I shot it with my mobilecam. It's the stupid lighting in the class and the black background which creates that look. It's actually the same pic before and after :P I think if the background would be low satur. blue, it would look alot better. And I couldn't shade enough because I only had an HB pencil in hand :)

You could actually see the direction of the pencil strokes now, if you pay enough attention. The stains aren't my oily fingerprints but in the ref. there was some other sht because it is supposed to be helluva old. So much fuss, but I really don't draw much so this is a rare candy :)

I just got my wacom today, been having fun in Corel Paint:

I know it doesn't compare to most of yours, but I'm still getting the hang of this stylus thingy. Not as similar to pencil and paper as I thought it would be.

EDIT: With color:

That's funny, I just started lurking round that forum a few weeks ago myself! It's pretty sweet, but I've yet to post there....

Edit--------

Zwickel,

For future reference, that post is more suited for Whatcha Workin On? or Finished Art Thread. This thread is for sketches.

Ok, ok, it's true I've not posted here in ages, so here's a big ol life drawing dump:

These are anywhere from 5-30 minute poses. They are two different models and I'm still very rusty, so go easy on me. I'm trying to go to the session each week but have only been able to hit up 3 of them last month.

:o omg, Dave posted shit!!! They look wonderful.

My comments on the pictures, top to bottom:

1- Wow, love the rhythm and posture on the girl all the way to the left. Her feet are orgasmic. Her waist looks a wee bit pointy-thin, though. The one on the upper-right has really nice construction, especially around the collar bone and shoulders - nice hyper-extension on the elbows. Lots of people seem to miss that on girls.

2- The soft-shaded figure is excellent, lots of good subtle hinting at struture on her breasts and chest, both upper and lower. I like the sharp light terminator on her shin., and I like the bony angle of her wrist. The bottom part of her hip is a little confusing to me; what's with that hard dark line around the head of her femur?

3- Niiiice curves, especially good on the weight shift (I wish I could draw weight like that! :o ). The standing figure's neck looks a tad thin, but that could just be covered by her hair. I'm less fond of the lying down figure, but that's just me being distracted by her hips (Pointy and a little oblong, though I have seen hips in real life sort of like this...). Was the hard shading a personal choice or part of the environment from which you were drawing the model?

4- Gwah, the rhythm!! Love it, love it. Points for not shying from the voluptuousness of your model. Love the softness of the right-most figure, especially around her buttocks and upper thigh, and where all the lines in her back kinda melt into each other.

5- The red and blue works well, I think. You always do hips so well. :)

6- I like the expression here - it looks kind of forlorn. The subtle rhythm variations in the arms are quite beautiful. Her thighs look a little too symmetrical and round... To be fair, I DO see some shaping of the knees, so I'd say you did a fine job overall.

The fact that you're doing life drawing at all right now is a big accomplishment, and it's always a treat to see your work.

Anything you would like to say about your drawings? What you've found to be difficult? What's become easier over the years? Any suggestions for people just getting into life drawing?

Thanks for showing us, Dave.
