Fuzzy, the young girl up front isn't casting a shadow... just thought I'd let ya know.

I agree with munch, though... the guys in the back are a little weird... and did you just copy one of them, and make him black?

It's all great, you just might want to work on the guys in the back.

Yeah, I love anything by McKean. As for yours, it might do you good to study Miller's Stuff (warning: Link contains nudity). I know the look is completely different, but his layout and use of silhouette is near goddly. He compositions are fantastic.

Also make use of your Histogram. When I got home from work, I saw your image on my "lighter" monitor and saw it clearer. Anyway, here's your histogram from the original peice:

Histogram, eh? I didn't know that existed, but it looks like a great tool.
I didn't consider it a problem because it looks fine on my monitor, but looking at that histogram result, I clearly did go overboard with the dark.

And Frank Miller, of course. I noticed some of his action poses are a bit weak, but the silhouettes and noire style and spot-on.

Can't figure if his neck is too long or his face is proportionally screwed up...

It's his hace....If he didn't had that hat on, his forehead would look giantic.

fuzzy, in that boot-camp picture, the guys thumb is growing out of his palm.

Whoops! I'll fix that. Thanks

Hands - the scourge of artists everywhere since 2 million bp :D

also thanks to Tom about the girl's shadow.

I'll work on those dudes in the back tonight, I just copied one as a place holder to work on the composition - it's a work in progress rather than a completed painting. Oh and I didn't copy the white dude and make him black, it was the other way around - michael jackson style

Anything else? rip it! Spit it! You have hate! You have anger! But you do not use them...

fuzzyillogic great poster.

Why are some lines totally straight?

Thats my only comment - else I like it very much.

Heres something more dark and noncomic...

No - it need to bee cleaned up.

Its a quick sketch.

I started in flash making a perspektive grid - sketched one building and the three persons.

Then I printed the sketch and drew over it on paper - finally I sketched on it in PhotoShop.

-Ill need to make the rim on the left character more white.

Thanks

Cheers

That's freakin' gorgeous man :D

A rough sketch! A rough sketch! I'd submit that to an art gallery!

The lighting...so moody....makes me want to jump into the picture and see what's going down :)

P.S. I was going for an angular look on the guy and experimenting with style, but I might have to revise if it looks off. Thanks for the crit. :wbitey:

I'll see ur point - stylish solidier

Perhaps a little more lineweight on him then - else I think its great.

Wow nice work everyone. If I wasnt in a hurry i'd take time to write some critics and tips (im not that good myself so:P)

I did this quick, not much details in it. Might finish it tommorow or at least before next week. Thought it was sick enough to post it here

Didn't do much today, except for those hours of modelling that went to crap... :yfok:

This is for a Mac Expo

The Snake giving the "Apple" to Eve, making them lose paradise and whatnot.
Feel free to give suggestions!
