Hey, Lupa... I'm genuinely curious, so don't think i'm making fun of you, but have you ever learned perspective? some parts look like you know what you're doing with perspective, and other parts don't... looks good, so far, though. I painted this in sketchbook today... ![]() Crits, please |

Tom Conger Make more shadows to define the eyesocket and eyeball inside. Just work very loosley and experiment. You can alway clean up the ugly brushstrokes afterwards. I also made the iris a little darker around the edges. ![]() Here's a sketch I made in the "drawing jam" thread at drawingboard.org

Thanks Com! I was kinda stuck at that point, and didn't know where to take it, so i just said it was done. Guess i'll be painting more eyes tomorrow.
I really should post more stuff so that people can tear it apart, and help me out... here's a quick little sketch i did (i know it's really small) ![]() Time to get back to drawing. |

Yeah, I saw that over there, but I figured you'd post it here. So, I waited to reply. Looks good, you should paint her up... ---------- To Tom and his eye: The rendering is nice, but the shape looks a bit off. Check out Linda's eye tute. It's got some great shape and wonderfull rendering to boot.

![]() Some head I was painting to get over my face drawing handicap. Got fed up with his mug tough, and I just can't get the eye right. Photoshop screwed up and I couldn't save my file anymore ("the selected task cannot be completed because of a program error" <_< ). Luckily there's the printscreen button ^^ Yesterday I has a similair problem where it opened the html help file and got itself in a continious loop, so everytime I exited the brower and went back in to the program it would just freeze and send me a new help window. Annoying as crap, gonna reinstall tomorrow. |

![]() Followed that tutorial (sorta) and that's what i got... I did it in sketchbook, instead of photoshop, and skipped some parts just 'cause i didn't like them  Oh well... copying someone's work like that is like taking notes at school... a lot of people learn better by writing (or drawing) it themselves. Crits? Edit: awesome stuff, Rubbs! All your stuff amazes me. and thanks yellowknots (below this post) |

Nah, honestly can't remeber last time I did a photoref Should start using it more tough, maybe I'dd improve I little faster if I did so... <_< Nice drawing Neko, I am wondering, do you use allot of guidelines when you are drawing? ______ More nonsensical pictures! ...or is it? ![]() More bleh, I have the tendency to overwork stuff and it loses all it's spontanity, gonna try to be more selective in the stuff I'll be rendering out. Please don't point me errors, there are tons by the double dozens... <_< |

I also try to work the entire piece instead of just focusing on one area. By doing this, you keep it balanced. |

I find myself doing that all the time Bleeg.. Ooo i'l work on the face now... 10 minutes later everything else is in rough shape still with a detailed face... Then i end up sampling areas of the detailed part to keep it consistant but end up loosing interest.... Any tips on balance you can give us? |

Might just be me Rubber, but it looks like there's far too much space between the bottom of the nose and the top lip. |

Purdy. I really like the duck because he looks so 3d. Maybe you should try adding some darker highlights. I don't know if that makes sense since he's in the daylight, but try it out. Maybe some pale green reflections on his ass from the grass? (I'm a poet) Speaking of the grass, it's pretty weak if you don't mind my saying. The hill looks like an amorphous blob with little spikes on top. If you want to make the individual blades of grass, do it throughout the whole thing, even if you just hint at them. You're putting the Cintiq to good use.

Yes, and we all see how well that works, in your shoddy illustrations. Really, Bleago, just give up and go home, you waste your time even hanging around these forums. Oh wait, that was me. Nevermind, Dave, you keep on going. ;D |
