Awesome Munchos! Sounds a lot like the kind of animation I did in my first animation class... Manniquins murdering clay balls. :P

My advice:

1. Have her pushing the button in the second panel. It's a major story beat and it took my brain a second to make the connection that she was playing it. My boyfriend didn't get that it was playing at all; he just thought sound effects were coming out for no reason. But he's kind of slow.

2. Take out the fourth panel. You don't need it.

3. The fourth panel reads much more angry than the last panel. Put the fourth panel's head in the last panel.

4. In the first panel, I immediately want to read the "Just", not the "Bro". Move the Bro bubble to the left of the other and shift the Just bubble to the right.

It's a funny comic, but the narrative could be smoother. Good expressions, good topic.

when i get my computer back i will make her pressing it in the second panel, i'm not sure about getting rid of the 4th but 'll alter her anger in the fifth

OK EDIT: how could i move the bubbles to fit nicely?

Humbleego: is there a way you can increase and decrease the brushsize in painter by using the keyboard somehow? That's what I like about photoshop

neko_aku: if you'll try to stand in that pose yourself, you'll realise that the knee furthest away from the camera should be behind the kne closer to the camera.
The leg is also alot longer compared to the leg closest to the camera.
Maby it would look better if he sat on his one kne instead?

That is awesome. You used photoshop for that right?

What size is the stage you usually do your speed paintings on in pixels?

Also (this feels like 40 questions lol) how did you do that background?

ANDDDD... how many people work with you? I mean at work

If I'm allowed to show, I most likely have. Anything project related is obviously under NDA. Stuff like this is just some office fun and not related to anything, so it's kosher.

yep

That one was around 2500x2000 I think. It varies with no real logic. :P

Also how did you do that background?

Just different layers of scanned Spray Paint.

Our company has like 300, I the artists on my project are 5-7 depending on what stage of the project we're on.

Im wondering when (or if) you run into artistic ruts what you do for inspiration to get yourself out of it? Because my job is very relaxed as well...In fact it gotten to the point where i can bang out my quota for the day with an extra 2 and a half hours left in my work day for me to doodle.

What im getting at is that i find myself unwilling to draw sometimes in that block of time or anytime at home because it happens there to....... I want to with all my heart and soul but the mind draws a blank (no pun intended).

What do you do?

Do you just scribble about and look for form?

am I right?

Yes many do specialize, some others are what are called "generalists". This means they don't specialize but can do a lot of different things. I was brought on as a generalist but my current project, I'm functioning as soley a 2D specialist. Haven't touched MAX yet but it will be different next project.

Yeah, add a little colorization, etc and that's it.

I don't do much "make something out of a scribble" sort of thing. Though, I should to loosen up. These days I don't often suffer from lack of inspiration because I get so little time to work on my own stuff. I keep a list of things that my mind comes up with. Then when I get a spare moment, I expore one of them.

If I'm feeling really unmotivated, I'll look at COWs and DSGs on Conceptart.org or Drawing Jams on Drawingboard.org. This often will inspired me to do something.

If you're lookin for topics here are my favorite random resources:Hope it helps. :bfoot:

Ya, I didn't get any help on the "Watcha Workin' On?" thread, so I thought I'd come over here. ^^ That's supposed to be a bear, but I'm not sure if I like it at all. Advice = shweet.

And, get someone tell me what tool on Sketchbook to use to get these quick painting-like drawings? Humbleego, I don't see at all what brush you use to get what you come out with. I've been trying to get something like it for a while but I can't seem to find it.

Hey Festi,

Its nice, although yeah, you can't tell its a bear. This is because you haven't shown any bear like things lol. For example, you could have a little cut out section on his arse, where a short, stubby tail pops out, and you could add hair like features around the top of his head. It also doenst help that old Ultima Bear is looking away from us. There any specific reason why? Hehe

Keep it up though!

Anyway, yeah, crits pleaaase:

Ooooo Neo I like, thats the digi-coloring of one of your previously posted sketches right?

I like it, i really dig the powerful yet gentle gesture given by his hands, Pretty Shweeeeet man!

Heres something i did like last week, just felt like scanning:

any crits? or suggestions?

I know that Commie uses a form of this type of action-posing, with the lines and circles and such, and it seems like a nice way to get the pose you want quickly before u jump into full out drawing

Hey Jack, it's a little hard to read where his chest is pointing towards, would you mind posting a version with a symetryline from top to bottom? It's just that the pose looks a bit awkward to me (might be his belt that is giving a wrong impression of the pelvis).
