HE,

Do you pretty much stay around 60% opacity on your brushes and move to higher opacities for finishing?

Start at 100% and put the bases down (typically) then switch to 60% for the majority of the piece, now and then I switch to 30% for more subtle effects.

Body proportions look good, need to work on your ear and head shape.

Eh... I made another one out of boredom. It's kind of fun, but they're still not even close to spectacular. I was kind of trying do something cool on the background like in bleego's minion tutorial but it didn't come out to great.

Head is more egg shaped, and less dip between the eyes and nose in the contour of the head --- more rounded. Ears are not perfect elipses, the taper and favor one side. They also fold near the base of the skull.

Rubbers: (I do hope that isn't a used rubber on your head, something fishy going on. Haha)
I love the cheese, it really pops out the way you shaded it. The mouse strikes me as needing more darks, at least the eye. Love the way you did his little paws. The tail I think needs to be a little fuzzy, they have sparse hairs on them, but that might be distracting and draw the viewers attention and I guess isn't necessary. The way you cast the cheese's shadow makes me think the mouse's shadow needs to be a bit longer. What country is that flag to?

Festival:
Same thing for you, I believe it needs more darks. The way you stippled the highlights is awesome though. Character reminds me of a Prowlie.

Nice one, rubberhead, I'd totally eat that cheese. I don't know why, but the ear of the mouse looks a tiny bit odd (the one closest). Other than that, it's a sick drawing. Just hope that's not a French flag  haha, j/k

Here's something I just did. I've noticed that my marks can tend to be a bit square-ish, so I wanted to try something a little "rounder". I know the circle that makes up the stomach is a little wonky, but I'm pleased with the rest of it.

little robots tend to be one of the things I don't draw too much, so critisize all you want. The Cuddlebot will kill you anyway.

Edit: here's a face I just drew. Pointers are more than welcome. I know the neck is too thick, haha. I did this in maybe 10-15 min....

Pretty freakin' sweet Rubberhead. The mouse probably does need more shading, however.

And hockman, I looked at your website and I really like your cartoonish style. That drawing with the guy with the laser and the skull is sweeet.

Mouse needs more shading, would you still say that considering the mouse is white and the fur doesn't reflect much?
Think I'll make the cast shadow on the cheese more subtle, don't want harsh lighting.

BTW, totally diggin that cartoon Hocks :P

Alot better Psybola!
It's a lot more cuter and chubbier now. Just like a rabbit =)
maby adjust that thigh. It looks a bit unatural. Like it's not realy in the resting position (when it sits down like that)
Looks like he's missing the front legs. I only se the paws.
But there's lots of improvement in this drawing. Good job
:bfoot:

This is a bad reference example, but I cant find anything better at the moment^^
(look at the front legs)

Or do you have a ref of the one you drew?

His front paws are folded under him, hidden under his fat fur. :D At least that was what I was trying to portray.

yes, but maby you could make some folds of some kind, to indicate that there are legs under there (Like the one you posted on the very top of this page). Something like this maby.( 2 examples)
(I cant find any profile references of a fatfured one, so im not so shure how it does look for real)

Well, here's something really quick that I drew with a computer mouse in Artpad:

Posted Image

I trully do suck at shading. If someone can give me some tips, or even just edit it, that would be nice. ;)

Here are the original websites, by the way, so you can see the process of how it was made:

http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iygzwh14gqwg
http://artpad.art.com/gallery/?iygxqt1k9yyc (older one, before I started shading)

P.S. Psybola, the ears still look a little off in the 2nd sketch, and I'm almost certain that it's because of how they're attached to the back of the head. The front of the ear should be attached lower than the back of the ear.

I was practicing painting some clouds for the "journey image" And it turned out to a little cool abstract image=P

ESN: use a bigger brush first. You need to cover more areas in either shadow or light. So far both the shadows and lights are hiding around the edges of the drawing. It makes it look kinda flat.

two quick examples

Whoa, what a constructive critic.. Are you sure you really needed to say when you don't even know what's wrong in the pic? <_<

I can't say much about the clouds myself, because I think it's a bit too close of a zoom. If you'd show what's around it, we would see how it fits the whole image.
