Wow Noob, you're really good. Are you just recently getting into that style of drawing?

Wow Noob, you're really good.  Are you just recently getting into that style of drawing?

i would say yes,its the style i'm most comfortable with right now.

and thanks fuz.

SHARKCELLAR

cool pic,i wanna mention about your colours though, your overall piece is blue, thats the master colour.because of this your vehicle and character just look copied and pasted into the scene.maybe make the guy a bit greener, and the car a bit more purply to match the rest of the image.

to Sharky: looking sweet! the back ground detail looks great! is this just for an art piece or are you actually going to animate it? Cuz I think your detailed backgrounds would look so cool as part of an animation. One question...did u draw the cobbled road? each cobble? or is it a well placed texture?

to the buss of man: not bad mate, but use you pencil to see angles and stuff. hold the pencil out in front of you. it does help at the start. Your bucket is well out of shape. The bottom of the bucket and top is wrong. too much of the top is being shown, and not enough curve on the bottom. The bristles on the brush are in the wrong perspective, unless they are acually bent out like that.as for your bottle in the last pic, remember that a bottle is symmetrical so both sides should look similar. (look just below the neck of the bottle and notcie that the "shoulders" dont look the same. (if u know what i mean. But keep it up mate, u r improving)

Juggs,

This painting was simply another step in attempting to master painting in PS. This is my first finished complex piece in PS. So, no this wasn't for an animation, but that is an enticing idea to make an animated version.

As far as the cobblestone road, I was gonna paint the road, realized I had no idea which type of cobblestone I wanted to do, did a google image search for refs, realized I didn't want to labour over painting cobblestones, skillfully placed the texture and then reveled in how well it worked. :wbitey:

Is this any better? I can't tell anymore.

if you could animate him running from the distance right past the camera it would look bloody excellent! Him running would be the hard part and the ship and lasers could be easily done after. That with a little dramatic music and you have got yourself a prefessional looking short on your hands. I say go for it Sharkcellar. It would...i mean, IT WILL be cool.;)

Yes in my opinion it does. The ship and the guy were alot brighter in the one before. Looks awsome i really like it! Nice detail on the buildings and such.

Side question ... where on these forums did i stumble upon that poster forum???

Ravenseye- Are you reffering to the propaganda poster thread?

sharkcellar- I know you probably are finished with editing that picture but i had a thought-
Maybe you could try turning the lights on in the windows on the right?
It would give a nice light source for highlights on your character to make him stand out more.

[Edit] Or maybe add red highlights to him from the near-missing lasers instead

Random sketch.

Buss, when you draw from life, make sure you draw what you see. Your rendering is nice, but I can tell that you're drawing based on what you think things look like. Either that, or you're moving your perspective too much when drawing.
Ignore what you think you know. Then draw.

It's flash MX. Simple combinations of brush tool, "paint inside", and gradients.

Oh, and I like your painting, Shark. Very fun.

hey people. i was away in europe for two weeks, but i still did a couple things. the first one is a challenge my aunt gave me to do drawing different emotions. any good?

second is a little kid character im working on. i think he looks a bit too similar to some other characters ive seen, but oh well, i like how it came out.

comments and crits are welcome :D
