Actually, I want to try a Lion-O with a real Lion head instead of that broadway Cats musical look from the 80s. I also loved Slythe & of course Mumm-Ra. Would like to try those too. So many good characters to redesign!

Actually, I want to redo Monkian because he turned out far from what I wanted, but I didn't have much time to fix him.

Is he smokin' weed?

No, but that is a pipe. I was trying to make him look older with more character and pipes are cool.

No, the paisley was a pattern I googled, then changed the colors on. Original Image Here

Thanks for all the comments, guys!

----------------- EDIT:

Some Lion-O sketches, trying to think of different directions to go with him:

Yeah , I've been trying to work it in without it looking:

  • Like a actual lion head on a human body (in other words, not a blend of human and lion)
  • Like a flamboyant hair dresser.

Which it why I starting thinking of dredds or such. This is by no means the final direction, just some doodles on paper.

the hair could go on somewhat like this, just change the inside of the face to a lions face

 OK, after making fun of Disney doing remakes a friend and I started talking about "Mickeys List".

So I had to draw Mickey as An SS solider. If you don't find with kind of humor to be funny (I'm in no way supporting Nazis, just making fun of Disney and there obsessive to make remakes of every damn movie on this planet)

well here's the picture (linked so those who find it offensive don't have to see it)

Lol, I did a Pikachu redesign yesterday. Too bad it looks too ridiculious to post here :P

BTW, Bleegs, I hate you for that black-grey-white line sketching style, something I attempted a few times but never got good at.
Think your designs are improving BTW, they feel more solid somehow.

Fantastic work Jurgis, I particularly like the small head on the bottom right, the proportions appear to be right on

Thanks! I've been trying to improve in that area.

I've never had a flair for patterns, costumes and such (like for instance Ang does). I've been trying to work on that area (hence the anteater's costume).

Did you ever know you're my favorite, Jugs?

Bleeg! So beautiful, man. Still trying to put pipes in everything, aren't you? The anteater's uniform is brilliant, and Papa Smurf is the ultimate awesome grandpa. You've really tightened up everything in the last few months, it's quite impressive. :)

Any styles you're interested in branching out and trying your hand at? Sort of how Comlock goes and does disney every once in a while. It would be fascinating to see how you adapt what other people have done (Not that there's anything wrong with what you've got, but I love seeing talented artists going way outside their comfort zone). If you want to develop patterns, go look at old architecture and art weaves: Celtic, gothic, vitictorian, Thai, Tibetan sand paintings, etc. We as Americans are cornfed on incredibly simplified designs that have high impact but relatively little sophistication or depth compared to what was the norm a few hundred years ago. I'm trying to branch out myself and it's difficult. :fpbls:

Sand. Saaaaaaand. Not glued down or anything, made only a few grains at time. Don't sneeze. :gasp:
