Well, it's about time I actually posted something...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/small_lard/sketch.swf

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/small_lard/obiwan.swf

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/small_lard/robot.swf

Edit: Explanation time!!! For this robot, I actually designed it first with thinking of what a old busted robot would look like, but then I went in the totaly opposite direction and started thinking what would be the most effective way of designing a robot. Robots don't need eyes. What they hell would they do with a bunch of coloured pixel information (this is assuming it's not too intellectually advanced). All four legs/arms have similar function, so that they still function with a missing limb or can use them for the same type of job. They don't need mouths, the don't need pelvisis, they don't need bones or muscles or fat. It's actaully the concept which drove me to draw this, so...er... congradulations if you read all that nonsense.

I like it, lots of good details...

Here are my meager offerings for today. These are rough sketches for backgrounds in a short sequence I'm creating. The shading is just a guide for when I bring them into Painter and do them up right. Also, please excuse the safe guides, they're only there to help me lay it out for television:
The shot in the sequence in which the two characters enter:

Part of a looping movie background, character will be running:

Cliff where one character leaps to the branch for safety and the other falls to his doom. Camera booms down and trucks right:

Super amazing stuff Humble! Very professional and very well thought out.....Can't wait to see it in motion...
-Did you draw that in pencil first or are you boarding it from your tablet?
You say TV? is this your own series or do you work for an animation company?

Yeah, same here! Very cool, Humbleego.

Hey Super-Mute. You might be referring to my comment about your guy on the moon.. I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression when I suggested it was a "spam-magnet". I didn't mean that I thought your pic was spam. Perhaps I should have offered more encouraging words than jus' quickly throwing a comment at you like that.

My bad. :worry: I apologise for seeming too negative since I only thought that you could do better.

Thanks! All done in Photoshop... I'm working on the animation in Flash now...

I wish. :P Actually, I'm a contributing author to a book in the works about After Effects. My chapter is about combining Flash and After Effects. So, basically I'm doing the storyboards, animatic and FBF cell animation in Flash and compositing it with the backgrounds and adding further effects in After Effects. Anyway, I said for TV because that's the "virtual format" for this piece. The frame on your TV actually hides part of the picture, so those safe guides are there to make sure everthing fits comfortably in the viewable space.

Hooray! Adam has posted to the sketch thread! :D And it's freakin sweet...

Not to mention, I see someone's dingle berries! Is that a self portrait? :shane:

I especially dig the shading method on his body, looks kinda like a woodcut...

And you love drawing water don't you? Very nice...

Do you work for someone?

I'm finishing my animation degree this June/July. I had an internship/job with a motion graphics company for the past year, but recently, I took a reduced schedule (which means I call them when I've got time and they send me some work) so that I could focus on school for my last two quarters....
