Hey Toonzy. Your coloring is pretty soft and tone-uniform, so it's hard to pick out your character. His pose is active though, which I like. :) Have you tried coloring on paper and scanning? You can get some pretty amazing results with ink, pastels, and paint.

i think the sketch is awsome and stuff and the staff looks sweet it just makes me laugh thinking about a modern day sorceress walking down like New york with a staff checking out a new pair of shoes. Just wish there was another way to make her look like one without a staff.

Mr. HadOne2Many? I have a question, why does she have to be so scantily clad?

Also, fighting demons in those heels can't be good for her feet...

But the drawing is good.

What's with you and girls not having clothes? People once upon a time were NAKED, all the time. What a concept! :-D

My problem with the character is not the clothing or the heels. It's the fact that she's a "modern" soceress and she's got this regal-looking staff that doesn't match the rest of her. Maybe you could push it into scifi and make it a cyberpunk relic, or maybe she uses a household object like a wand? I have bad suggestions, but the staff really disrupts your character.

Also, consider fleshing out her outfit. It's fine, but a little plain. She looks a bit white trash/biker chick, which I dig, but it might help you to look up reference and add some stuff to her wardrobe. I'm seeing chaps or knee pads? Anything that could make your character more recognizable.

I'm having a hard time with finding something to fit instead of a staff. It's still just a concept so I am open to all suggestions. I'll continue to rack my own brain over this. The staff has got to go though (It's a shame too cuz I really liked the design of it :( ). I'll keep experimenting with new styles. Its good practice and will keep me motivated to draw.

If anyone is interested I started to color this sketch, all flat colors and no shading yet, but it is here Click

P.S. Krall I drew her that way because it makes me smile :)

Excellent Comlock, I hate to see what happens when he starts to tell a lie...

Here's my sketch for today. Same character, new weapon, darker attitude, gave her some tattoos too (I think she's turning evil now).

Prometheus, you could try building a quick struture of the profile before you continue.

Yours looks a little bit like the one in the green frame.
-eyes placed to high up in the skull -The line from the forehead and down to the mouth all goes into a straight line.

Here's one example. And you can build lots of variations on it later on

Like the pose of that farting guy Kiwi=) Great use of line of action there

Here's something I drew earlier this week:

Prometheus I think the nose is too small, try making it come out more or have it differently.

Oh, it seems I have forgotten to say that the guy isn't human (ears, duh).

He's sumthing of a dog+man dude.

Prometheus - in that case I think the jaw and nose should stick out a little more, kinda like a werewolf. Good start, especially with a mouse.

Comlock - your style is great as always. I really like the thing in the corner, is that an imp?

KiWi - :gasp: I really starting to worry about you...keep it up

Here's my sketch for today, I still need to finish it but it was an experiment with a new style.

Thanks, but would a emerald or ruby be ok? it would be easier to color than a clear diamond.

Prometheus - have you look at the resources section on this forum yet? Just asking because there are some great wing tutorials under the creature section there.
