Nice on Rubberhead.  I've always really liked black and white drawings.  Bald headed with a huge nose.  Life must be tough for him.

I am taking your advice and doing some leg studies.  I broke out Hogarth for this because his overaggerated muscles make it easier to learn proper placement.  After roughing out the main shapes I tried to simplify with the fewest # of lines while still retaing the shape of a leg.

Feet are next on my list.

They look good man, Legs and feet are definitely my weak point too (and noses  )

Thanks Clink, practice and then practice some more.

Tinsterr - you gonna share your idea with the rest of us?

I have another sketch. I was gonna scrap it but then I decided to do a color test. Now I'm thinking about finishing it. What do yall think, is the pose worth coloring or should I write it off as practice?

EDIT: I realized the picture I posted was at the wrong resolution and was pixelated, posted another one.

I like the girl, just add some more shadow under the chin and hair. Try to break up the strands some more, keep it flowing. Top of her wrist is a little angular too.
You should finish it :ph43r:

Thanks for pointing that out Espen.
Actually I knew the face was skewed, just couldn't be bothered with repainting it.
Kind of the better-luck-next-time feeling, wonder if that's a bad thing...
It's a bad excuse either way

Tinster: Infidel! I AM Satan! Nah, I just felt something was missing there...

Some dreamy/abstract speedpaints, the usual start with a mess and see what comes out thing.

I like the painting of the guy and the face. It looks like the old StarWars or Indiana Jones collage posters.

I was looking through my photobucket, and found this. Did I post it already?

I didn't draw it, just did the colouring.

Tinsterr when I saw that symbol on Rubberheads Painting I thought he might be a Mason

Anyway Rubberhead, I really like your last speedpaint, the one with the mushroom shaped rocks. That has a great atmosphere.

Jemooky great job coloring Spidey. How long ago did you do that?

Thanatos - Great color choice. I want to flick the bug right off the jewel just cuz he looks so damn happy.

can you achive this painting style in other programs such as Fireworks? Ive tried before, its just a ton of work to go one by one and layer colors> ive tried smudging some together, but im not sure exactly what techniques to use.

I dont realy think you can do the same in other programs Kenny.
I made those sketches by using one brush, 1 layer and no blending tools.
So it's realy fast. You can easily blend the colours and make gradients directly on the canvas with the brush itself by just pressing lightly on the tablet.

Here's another sketch

is there anyway i could get ahold of an older, or trial version of this program to mess around with. I'd like to use some simlar images (if i could make them using this) for some of my flash animations.

Plus if i did, would it be best to transfer the file into fireworks, to make it more compatable with flash?

edit:
nm i found the home page for the company that makes it. Are you using Ver.IX?

I did this while my lecturer talked about Frederic Skinner and behaviorism:

And I did this epic amount of nonsense over a diatribe about Carl Rogers and client-centered therapy:

Wow, very inspiring day in this thread.

Comlock - looks like you're getting the hang of the new program. Now let's see something you spent more than 2 minutes on :P

Tinster
- is this the idea you had? Anway its a good start, reminds me of the graphic novel "Road to Perdition" I would like to give more constructive criticism but there's not much of a picture there yet. Keep us posted!

Anghenfil
- what can I say? So clean, so fluid. Keep posting things like this so I can absorb the awesomeness.
