Awesome, I had her as a reference. Yeah, I love her. I feel busted, I used this, but well I'm finding a way to draw females, and I guess I've found it.

I drew a couple of sketches of Jessica Rabbit, I may post them if I find them...

Hey thanks for that Elephant. Allowed me to do what im about to post. The link you placed off of comlocks didnt show up. I knew of the resorces page which you had posted which has some good things but i couldnt seem to find much on male body structure in there. Even after just a few times of looking at the male structure and studying it i can deffintly say i know more about it then i did last week and more confident in drawing the body.

Heres a few lils i did.

You think there would be a website with just tons of pictures of people in poses like the kind comlock has to sit and look at well drawing. I want to be able to see different sizes in people and different poses with there legs bent and bodys twisted. If anyone has or ever does come along any websites like this let me know!!!

Thanks again for the crits all and the links Ele!

The comlock one was the Loomis book which has been down for a while, here is another version (note: I'm not sure if this is infringing on any copywrights or anything so sorry in advance if it is).

Also, check these out at conceptart.org
Figure Drawing 1
Figure Drawing 2

and my favourite for poses atm is CharacterDesigns.com
Click on the photosets button and you can browse their collection, lots of poses, male and female, clothes and no clothes.

I just felt like drawing today. So, I sat down and drew. Gardenstate soundtrack in the background. Tried out the lighting effects that Mr. Phillips posted in his blog awhile back.

Cits are always welcome.

Wow, lookin' good w00t. It seems every time I see something from you, you have improved. Only crit would be the eyes lacking a bit of shine, check out some reference if you can and you will see adding even just one small white dot can have a great effect.

lostyboy, i LOVE your stuff aye!
its pure imagination, delciously dark and its just done really shitting well.

i also love the fact that you use different media to DO these drawings: paint. thats like drawing with a bloody leg of lamb compared to the programs offered these days! i ADMIRE THAT! :D
so yeh, im sounding kinda creepy now.
but the point is- keep doing what you do, you rock. and if i were a painting, i would totally do your drawings :P

Both of you need to construct your studies. You're just drawing the outer contours right now and not really paying attention to where the muscles begin and end, or where the bones are underneath.

And if I may add, try and understand what shapes each part of the body makes. make it more complex once you understand the shapes. Makes it a lot easer. (Look around for the loomis books online, it will show you what I mean.)

Draw from the inside out:
Mark proportions, draw bonestructure, mark muscle insertion points, draw muscles.

This will give you a better understanding of how the system works.

Nice improvements Morten=)
You could try constructing two boxes as the hips and ribcage and rotate them slightly at an angle. Then you'll get some more rythum to it. Her upperbody pose looks kinda stiff and long right now

Well, it wanted to be a figure study at first, but upon repetitive failure it ended up being a.... strange sketch with a little hung over beauty in the bottom.

Very nice sketches, comlock! I love how free your hand is when you draw them.

Elephant, I do quite like some aspects of that picture - the guy's chin, the expression on his face and the woman, particularly... the whole thing it has a very dark look. the biggest problems are the hands (obviously) and the ratio between the guy's chest and stomach (the stomach area is too long vertically).

By the way, I love Kenny Mcb's first comic on page 306 - I really want to read the continuation. :D

Here's a li'l sketch I did for the holidays:

Drew how I felt.

EDIT: Flipped it so it would read better... Since we're kinda programmed to read from left to right.
